Cattle Brand Engraved Gold Plated Colt Bisley Model
Single Action Army Revolver with Ivory Grips - Serial no. 299072, 44-40 WCF cal., 4 3/4 inch round
bbl., gold finish, ivory grips. This is an outstanding example of a 1907 manufactured Colt Bisley Model Single
Action Army revolver that subsequently received a full masterful cattle brand pattern engraving. This example is
unsigned, but features the traditional Texas cattle brand patterns originated by famous Master Engraver Cole Agee and
carried on by Weldon Bledsoe. This highly desirable pattern was developed in the 1940/50s and depicted the more prominent
and historic Texas cattle brands used in the 1880s and early 1900s. The engraving covers nearly all of the surface and is in the
typical western style, all on a punch dot background. The left side of the frame has the two-line patent date markings followed by an
encircled Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers appear on the frame and trigger guard, with unnumbered back strap and cylinder, and
assembly number “1033” on the loading gate. The revolver wears a set of highly attractive two-piece ivory grips.
CONDITION: Very fine as masterfully embellished, retains 99% of the gold plating, with absolutely crisp engraving. Grips are excellent with highly attractive grain, and distinct edges.
Mechanically excellent. This impressive cattle brand engraved Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army revolver stands as a grand tribute to the American cowboy on the western frontier!

Highly Attractive R.L.R. Signed
Engraved and Silver Plated Antique Colt
Single Action Army Revolver with Pearl Grips - Serial no. 121253, 45
Long Colt cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., silver finish, pearl grips. Originally manufactured in 1887,
this iconic, antique Colt Single Action Army revolver was subsequently beautifully embellished late in
the 20th century by and incredibly skilled, albeit unknown, artist with the initials R.L.R. The work is signed
discreetly by the artist on the lower front of the frame with “R.L.R. ‘84’”, indicating that the work was done in
1984. The engraving encompasses most of the surfaces of the revolver and all the major components, featuring primarily
beautifully executed floral scrollwork with beaded backgrounds, some fan motifs, and some crosshatched sections. The
revolver then received a full silver plated finish with nitre blued screw heads and cylinder pin. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard
two-line address, while the standard three-line patent dates are on the left of the frame, and the caliber marking is on the left of the trigger guard. The
matching serial number is on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, with the final digit of each appearing to be a “3” stamped over a “1”. It is
fitted with a standard blade front sight (slightly trimmed down), frame-top groove rear sight, and a very attractive pair of smooth pearl grips.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished, retains 98% plus of the silver plated finish, which shows an attractive lightly aged patina, a couple patches of very light
pitting, distinct markings, and crisp engraving. The grips are very good as slightly loose and having a few minor corner chips. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 5,000 - 7,500
