Fitted with a pair of smooth elephant ivory grips with script “HNS” scrimshaw monogram on the
left panel and four stacked stars scrimshaw on the right panel with the right panel marked “S. G.
HOPPER/DENVER CO,80221” and “”96”” on the underside, and a blued magazine with a bordered
“COLT.45/AUTO” mark flush gold inlaid on the base. Includes a hardwood presentation case, with
four brass star inserts and “GENERAL H. NORMAN/SCHWARZKOPF” laser engraved on top of the lid,
containing a full eight round cartridge block, and a September 8, 1996, dated appraisal letter signed
by Michael W. Dubber and detailing the custom features of the pistol and noting that the frame was
provided by Richard Clark of Estes Park, Colorado, who also served as an advisor on the project. Also
includes a letter signed by Cynthia Schwarzkopf, on Schwarzkopf Family letterhead, certifying this
pistol by serial number as being the former property of her father, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf.
CONDITION: Excellent as masterfully embellished by Michael Dubber, retaining 99% blue finish
along with gold, silver, and platinum inlays with limited minor handling evidence, a few small spots
of staining to the inlays, and crisp detailed engraving. The grips are also excellent with a hairline
crack in the left panel and crisp scrimshaw. Mechanically excellent. The case is exceptionally fine
with a few light storage and handling marks.
