The power switch has a white label reading “hell Batterie dkl aus
Sammler 4V”. A plate under the hinged internal cover reads “Nur
Gluhlampen mit 12 mm/Durchmesser verwenden”. Eight patch
cables are installed on the plug-board (Steckerbrett). The aluminum
cipher rotors have a series of numbers around the outside. These
numbered rotors were used by the Heer and Luftwaffe whereas
the Kriegsmarine utilized lettered rotors. The first rotor’s thumb-
wheel is marked “WaA618” and has “V” and “A13462” at the center
ebonite/Bakelite core. The second has “WaA69” on the thumb-
wheel and “III” and “A4728” at the center of the core. The third has
“WaA618” on the thumb-wheel and “II” and “A13530”” at the center
of the core. The empty orange “Batterie” box has “C.ERFURTH” and
“Heeres-Waffenamt” labels as well as a “Wa.A./B31” marking.
