Spectacular Presentation Cased Gold Damascene Embellished
Spanish Star Model BM Semi-Automatic Pistol with Spanish
Civil Guard Coat of Arms and Case - Serial no. 1645601, 9 mm
Parabellum cal., 4 inch round bbl., gold damascene finish, pearlite grips.
Manufactured c. 1972-1992. Features fixed blade front and notch rear
sights, a “flaming bomb” stamp on the polished chamber hood, “STAR *
CAL.9MM.” gold inlaid on the left of the slide, and the serial number on the
right side of the frame, with extensive gold damascened engravings with
near full coverage of the slide, frame, and slide catch. The engraving consists
of intricate bordering and patterns separating several panels with floral pattern
vines along with motifs of an eagle on the left of the slide, a dragon on the
right of the slide, a griffin on the underside of the dust cover, a sea beast on the
front grip strap, and two song birds on the rear grip strap. The trigger, magazine
release, thumb safety, pins, and barrel bushing are gold plated. Fitted with a pair
of pearlite grips with gold inlaid medallion inserts (with the Spanish Civil Guard
coat of arms on the left panel and Spanish national coat of arms on the right panel)
and a blued magazine with continued gold inlaid and engraved patterns on the
floor plate. Includes a fitted presentation case and an extra blued magazine
with gold inlaid and engraved patterns on the floor plate. Also includes a letter
signed by Cynthia Schwarzkopf, on Schwarzkopf Family letterhead, certifying this pistol
by serial number as being the former property of her father, U.S. Army General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, who led
the Coalition forces in the liberation of Kuwait during the Gulf War in 1991.
CONDITION: Excellent as masterfully embellished, retaining 98% gold damascene with some thinning on the
rear sight, some minor flaking/handling marks, and crisp engraving. The grips are also excellent with defined
medallions. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with an absent lid label.
