Outstanding Factory Game Scene Engraved, and Relief Gold Inlaid
Krieghoff Model K-32 Over/Under Shotgun with Six Extra Barrel
Sets - Serial no. 3350, 20 gauge, 28 inch vent rib ported bbl., blue/gold
finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Bohler-Laufstahl barrels featuring
dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, porting on either barrel near
the muzzle, 1967 dated German proof marks, and 2 3/4 inch chambers
with automatic ejectors. The rib is marked with a gold inlaid “12” ahead
of a flourish of scroll engraving, gold bordered scrollwork on the front
barrel hanger, and 3 1/2 inch wedges of floral scroll at the breech with
gold inlaid lines on the barrel wings and at the breech. The barrels are
fitted to the blued action which displays attractive floral scroll engraving
surrounding “KRIEGHOFF/MODEL 32” on the underside, a gold crown
on the top latch, and a trio of semi-relief gold inlaid game scenes. The
game scenes consist of a setter flushing a pair of pheasant cocks on the
left, a pair of quail on the underside, and a trio of mallards on the right.
The entire action is surrounded by gold inlaid borders. The gun is signed
“WAFFEN-REICH.DARMSTADT” on the left side of the top latch. The gun
features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety
with gold inlaid “S” indicator. The gun was stocked by J. J. Dockwiller
with a beautifully figured and finely checkered forend with matching
engraving and gold inlay around the iron and a pistol grip stock with
checkered flats, three letter monogram in the grip cap where it is marked
“J.J. Dockwiller/Gunsmiths”, and a rubber recoil pad. Included with the
gun are six extra barrel sets, two each in .410 bore, 28 gauge, and 20
gauge. Three of the barrel sets are matching numbered and engraved to
the gun, the other three are numbered “4280-1”, “4280-2”, and “4280-3”.
Also includes an aluminum hard takedown case that fits the gun and four
barrel sets.
Barrel measurements for the extra matching 20 gauge set (U/O):
bore diameter nine inches from the breech .632/.634 inches; choke
constriction .004/.006 inches; minimum wall thickness .045/.045 inches.
