Inlaid Hartmann & Weiss Bolt Action
Takedown Magazine Rifle with Hensoldt-
Wetzlar Scope and Case - Serial no. 2002,
250-3000 SAV cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/
casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Founded
in 1965 by Gerhard Hartmann and Otto Weiss,
Hartmann & Weiss quickly gained a reputation
for building only the finest guns and rifles
without compromise. This rifle is chambered for
the classic .250-3000 Savage, famous for being
the first American sporting cartridge to achieve
speeds over 3,000 feet per second.
The rifle was built with a blued steel barrel
lightly contoured for caliber featuring a banded
ramp beaded blade foresight with flip-up moon
bead, barrel band with front sling swivel, and a
sleeve-on island base three-leaf (one standing,
one folding) express rear sight regulated for 100,
150, and 200 yards with gold inlaid center lines.
The rifle displays dual gold inlaid bands at the
muzzle, “HARTMANN & WEISS - HAMBURG” and
“CAL. .250 SAVAGE” inlaid in gold on the top, and
a gold band with three interconnected wedges of
fine scroll engraving at the breech.
