The barrel of each gun is fitted to blued actions which display stunning
wonderfully executed scroll engraving over a matted background surrounding the
hand cut factory markings on the left side with “MATCHED SET OF 4” at the front, “Remington
MODEL 1100SF” at the center, and the serial number at the rear in banners. All four guns display three panel game scenes on each side
set into the scroll depicting a pheasant cock at the front, a pair of spaniels at the center, and a mallard at the rear on the left and a quail at the
front, a pair of pointers in the center, and a grouse at the rear on the right, all cut in exceptional detail. The guns are all signed with Runge’s “RPR
75” date and signature beneath the left dog scene. Each gun is fitted with an exhibition quality mullered border multi-point checkered forend as well as
a pistol grip stock with a white line white diamond grip cap, blank gold inscription oval in the toe line, and a Pachmayr Presentation recoil pad with white line
spacer. Stock measurements: 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 2 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with minimal handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
