Exceptional Consecutively Numbered Matched Set of Four Robert P.
Runge Signed and Master Game Scene Engraved Remington Model 1100SF
Premier Skeet Semi-Automatic Shotguns -A) Remington Model 1100SF Shotgun - Serial
no. M-031098-V, 12 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This set was manufactured in 1975. The “F”, or “Premier”, grade was
built sparing no expense with highly attractive extensive engraving and all parts hand fitted by the master gunsmiths at the Remington Custom
Shop, while the “S”, or “SKEET”, was the configuration designed for serious skeet shooters, with the “SF” being a combination of the two. Known as
the “Premier Skeet”, these guns were the perfect blend of form and function and were some of the highest quality guns to ever be made by Remington.
According to Remington Engraver Leo Bala in an interview with the Remington Society of America, the metal embellishment alone on these Premier Grade
guns took 40 hours to complete, that is an entire working week for a master engraver, in this case Robert P. Runge, for each of these extraordinary guns. Each
gun in this set was built with a blued barrel featuring dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard factory markings encompassed by six inch wedges of
scroll engraving at either side of the rib at the breech extending towards the muzzle, skeet choke, and 2 3/4 inch chambers (2 1/2 inch for the .410).
