Framed Print of L.A. Huffman’s “Old
Time Lambing Camp on Powder River” -
This desirable print by L. A. Huffman depicts
a serene flock of lambs and sheep in a
meadow on the Powder River in Montana.
Sheep and lambs can be seen grazing and
resting well into the background where a
line of trees gives way to a lightly clouded
sky. Images like this would have been
a regular sight throughout the West as
ranchers and shepherds took their flocks
to pasture. The lower edge of the image
is hand marked “Old Time Lambing Camp
Powder River Montana” on the left and “C
LA Huffman Miles City 1886” on the right.
The print is displayed in a wooden frame
measuring 24 7/8 inches by 16 1/8 inches.
CONDITION: Very fine with a distinct image
and some light creasing of the paper. The
frame is excellent with minor wear.
