Cased Elaborate Percussion All-Metal Salon/Parlor
Pistol - NSN, 22 cal., 5 1/2 inch octagon bbl., German silver
finish, metal grips. This likely mid to late 19th century pistol
is primarily German silver/nickel-silver in construction and
features elaborate cast action and grip with pierced scroll design under the barrel,
a fox hunting scene on the left, a fowl hunting scene on the right, and blade and notch
sights. It comes in a leather bound case with wine colored interior lining, a loading rod, and a
compartment with a pair of metal darts, a few lead balls, and container with wads.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with light aged patina, distinct designs, and minimal age and storage
related wear. Mechanically functions. The case and accessories are also very fine with minor age and
storage related wear including some minor tears on the lining.

Silver and Gold Inlaid, Finely Engraved Funk & Sohn
Percussion Pillar Breech Target Pistol - NSN, 42 cal.,
9 inch octagon bbl., blue/gold/silver/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. This c. 1840s-1850s pistol features “I. VALT:
FUNK &. SOHN IN SUHL” signed in gold inlay on top of the rifled barrel
surrounded by gold and silver scrollwork, recessed crown, pillar
breech, dovetailed blade front sight, sculpted bolster, adjustable notch rear sight,
adjustable single set trigger, three-position lock with automatic safety stall and gold
inlaid fraternal scene, gold inlaid soldier scene on the spurred trigger guard, gold inlaid
classical figure on the pommel compartment lid, fine scroll engraving with gold and silver inlaid
accents, bestial mask carved on the forend tip with inlaid eyes, and checkered wrist with silver pins
and relief carving.
CONDITION: Fine overall with distinct engraving and carving, bright gold inlays, aged patina on the
silver, mostly gray patina on the balance, and mild overall wear including some scratches and dings on
the stock. Mechanically functions.

Cased Pair of Engraved European Percussion Target Pistols -A) Percussion
Target Pistol - NSN, 45 cal., 9 inch octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/German silver
finish, walnut stock. The only markings found on these mid-19th century European
target pistols are “JNI” inscribed on the top barrel flats, unknown faint markings on
the lower flats near the breech, and “JNI” and “I” and “II” respectively on the forends
beneath the barrels. “JNI” markings are common on the stocks of European percussion
dueling and target pistols from this era and has been presumed to be the mark of a
talented but yet unknown stockmaker/carver. The rifled barrels have dovetailed blade
front sights and screw adjustable notch rear sights are on the standing breech. The
pistols are equipped with adjustable single set triggers, and the locks and German
silver mounts have scroll engraving. The stocks have carved masks with scroll accents
at the forend tips and fluted wrists. The pair comes in a large fitted case with a cap
container, mallet/loading rod with two attachments, ramrod, capper, “12” marked ball
mold, powder flask, wrench, screwdriver, and key.
CONDITION: Fine with most of the re-browned finish and twist patterns remaining on
the barrel, 70% original casehardened finish, mostly bright German silver, some mild
marks and scratches. The restored stock is also fine and has distinct carving and fluting
and minor wear. Mechanically functions. The relined case and accessories are good
with mild age and storage wear.
B) Percussion Target Pistol - NSN, 45 cal., 9 inch octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/
German silver finish, walnut stock. As described in “A.”
CONDITION: Fine with most of the re-browned finish and twist patterns remaining on
the barrel, 20% original casehardened finish, mostly bright German silver, a few dings
and scratches, and minor wear. The restored stock is also fine and has distinct carving
and fluting and some scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically functions.
