Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Hand Detachable Sidelock
Over/Under Shotgun - Serial no. 79722, 12 gauge, 28 3/8 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Special
Laufstahl barrels featuring a single orange bead sight on the matted flat vent rib, 1971 dated German proofs, front sling swivel, “W. GLASER-WAFFEN/ZURICH” retail mark
on the right of the chamber, scroll engraving at the breech, import mark on the lower tube, choke constrictions of .017/.032 inches, and 3 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a highly attractive coin finished bolstered hand detachable sidelock action with double Kersten bolts which displays near full coverage scroll engraving over
a matted background surrounding the Suhl emblem on the underside before continuing onto the trigger guard, toplever, and both tangs. The gun features double triggers (front articulated), ribbed cocking
indicators, and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved coin finished iron as well as a pistol grip stock with a black grip cap,
shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and a Pachmayr recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 15 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 97% original blue finish, some thinning at the muzzles, 95% original coin finish, some oxidation on the upper tang and rear of lockplates, a slight chip at the rear of the right lockplate, light
handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

featuring a single white bead sight on
the matted flat vent rib, standard factory markings, 1963 dated German proof marks, import mark on lower tube, engraving at the breech, front
sling swivel, choke constrictions for inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to to the coin finished scalloped action displaying scroll engraving around a pointer flushing a pair
of pheasants on the left in an upland scene and a flock of ducks on the right in a pond scene. The gun features Kersten crossbolts, cocking indicators, double triggers (front articulated), and a tang mounted manual
safety. The gun is fitted with nicely figured and multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved coin iron and Deeley release as well as a pistol grip stock with black grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling
swivel, and checkered black buttplate. Includes a period leather flat case. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 9/16 inch drop at heel; 14 7/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, 95% plus original coin finish, minor handling evidence, some dried grease on the action, light varnish added on the wood, and sharp checkering on the
wood. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with a torn handle and storage/transit wear.

Factory Game Scene Engraved Austrian Over/Under Shotgun - Serial no. 2374.36., 12 gauge, 27 5/8
inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued barrels featuring a single bead sight
on the matted flat solid rib, Krupp marks on the chamber, scroll engraving at the breech, 1936 dated proof marks, front sling
eye, choke constrictions of .034/.035 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened
sideplated triggerplate action which displays attractive scroll engraving surrounding game scenes depicting a hunter creeping up on a covey
of quail on the left and a hunter and his dog flushing pheasant cocks on the right. The gun features bushed firing pins, double Kersten crossbolts, gold
centerline cocking indicators, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid indicator. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and large
panel checkered three-piece forend with engraved iron and a pistol grip stock with multi-point checkered wrist, horn grip cap, rear sling swivel, and serrated horn
buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 11/16 inch drop at comb; 3 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 2 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% original blue finish, strong traces of the original case colors with the balance a fine silver patina, light handling evidence, some insect marks
on the butt, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Spezial Gewehr Lauf Stahl barrels featuring dual bead sights on the matted flat solid rib which is marked
“SIMSON, SUHL(THURINGEN)”, front sling swivel, attractive floral scroll engraving at the breech, 1953 dated German
proof marks, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to coin finished sideplated action which
displays attractive engraving showing oak leaf on the bolsters and scrollwork surrounding a roe buck with two does on the left with
flushing quail, a capercaillie cock and hens on the underside, and a pair of foxes flushing mallards on the right. The gun features
double Kersten bolts, cocking indicators, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured
and multi-point skip-line checkered three-piece forend with engraved iron and a pistol grip stock with shadowline cheekpiece, black
grip cap, rear sling swivel, and a factory buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .731/.723 inches; choke constriction .034/.037
inches; minimum wall thickness .027/.027 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 13 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, a few scratches on the lightly revarnished wood, and sharp checkering on
the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
