1902 American Eagle
Commercial 9 mm
“Fat Barrel” Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
22996, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 inch round bbl., blue/straw
finish, walnut grips. An exceptionally fine original example
of the first pistol chambered for the 9 mm Parabellum (9 mm
Luger) cartridge, the DWM Model 1902 American Eagle “Fat
Barrel” Luger semi-automatic pistols were intended specifically for
the lucrative United States commercial market. Approximately 600-700 of these
pistols were manufactured, and are typically found in the serial number ranges 22100-22300 and 22450-22900. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, with “American eagle” crest on the chamber, “DWM” monogram on the front toggle link, and early Luger features to include dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breech block, flat recoil spring, grip safety and no stock lug. The front of the frame is marked “GERMANY”, appropriate to an American import of the era. The barrel is marked with faint “crown/B,”“crown/G,” and “crown/U” proofs, while the extension and toggle link are marked with “crown/B” and “crown/U” proofs. Matching “commercial” serial numbers on
the barrel and frame, with
matching “96” partials on
the small parts including
the extension. Fitted with
straw finished small parts,
a pair of finely checkered
walnut grips, and a nickel
finished magazine with a
walnut base correctly marked
“Cal. 9m/m” on bottom.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 50% plus faded original blue finish with light edge wear, thinning on the frame, and 50% original straw colors on the small parts. The grips are also very fine with some light handling marks and defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Swiss Contract DWM Model 1900 Luger Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 2136, 7.65 mm Luger Auto
cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/straw finish, walnut grips.
Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, Swiss “cross in
sunburst crest” over the chamber, “DWM” monogrammed front
toggle, dished toggles with toggle lock, a flat breech bolt, grip safety, no stock
lug, flat mainspring, and fast taper barrel. The left of the barrel, left of the barrel extension, and rear toggle are marked with Swiss “cross” proofs, along with a “cross/V” proof on the extension. With matching serial numbers on the barrel and frame, along with matching “136” partial on the extension and “36” partials on the side plate, trigger, toggles, and bolt. Fitted with matching checkered walnut grips numbered “36” on the interior. The nickel finished magazine is fitted with metal insert hardwood base. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and 90% straw colors with light handling marks and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent DWM Model 1906 Commercial American
Eagle Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 44310,
7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/
straw finish, walnut grips. One of only approximately 7,500-
8,500 Model 1906 Commercial American Eagle Luger pistols
chambered in 7.65 mm Luger Auto that were manufactured by DWM. These
pistols were made explicitly for export to the United States, and were sold in
sporting goods stores and catalogs throughout the country. The Model 1906 was a culmination of improvements made on the Model 1900, with this example showing that refinement in its solid checkered toggle, coiled recoil spring, and more durable extractor. Features fixed blocked blade front and notch rear sights, grip safety, an American eagle
crest on top of the chamber, DWM monogram is on the front toggle, and “GERMANY” export mark is on the front of the frame. The pistol is numbered in the typical commercial style with all matching visible numbers. Though it is numbered in the typical commercial style,
it lacks the commercial pro having only a DWM proof on the bottom of the barrel under the serial number. The extractor is marked “LOADED”, and the
lower safety position is
polished. Fitted with unnumbered
checkered walnut grips and a nickel plated
magazine with unmarked wood base.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with light handling marks, faint spotting on the extension and frame, and crisp grip checkering. 85% original straw finish remains on the small parts. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent DWM Model 1900 Commercial Luger
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 17232, 7.65
mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/straw
finish, walnut grips. The Model 1900 pistols were the first
commercial Luger pistols produced by DWM. It features a blank
chamber area with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. The
majority of these pistols ended up on the U.S. market. This pistol has all the early
desirable Luger features such as a long frame, dished toggles with toggle lock on the
right side, recessed breechblock, 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel, grip safety, no stock
lug, and hold-open device. The lower safety area is correctly unmarked and polished.
Lacks any proofs on the barrel, extension, or frame. Serial numbered in commercial fashion with the full matching serial number under the barrel and on the front of the frame, and the partial matching serial number visible on various components including on the underside of both checkered walnut grip panels. Complete with one nickel-plated aluminum body magazine with an unnumbered walnut base.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with light handling marks, scattered spotting on the barrel
and grip frame. With
85% original straw colors
retained with light thinning
on the trigger and safety lever. The grips are
excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
