Winchester Model 12 Slide Action Skeet Shotgun in Very Scarce 28 Gauge - Serial no. 1351554, 28 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1950. Steel mid and red front bead sights on the matted solid rib, standard Winchester markings and “WP” proof to the left of the rib, 2 7/8 inch chamber, and choke marked “SKEET”. The blued receiver shows the standard Winchester “WP” proof and matching serial numbers with the receiver extension. Straight grain, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with Winchester grip cap and buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with slide retraction wear, minor handling evidence, a few small scratches on the right of the receiver, and sharp checkering on the excellent wood. Mechanically excellent.

Manufactured as a deluxe grade with standard markings including offset Winchester factory oval proof on
the barrel and the same proof repeated on the top of the receiver at the breech. The proof on the barrel is offset to the left to accommodate the desirable, factory installed, solid barrel rib, which is fitted with a single German silver bead sight. Jeweled
bolt and carrier, matching numbers on the receiver collar and receiver, “FULL” marked choke on the left of the barrel at the breech, and 3 inch chamber. Mounted with a finely figured, double-diamond pattern, checkered slide handle and pistol grip stock with
Winchester grip cap and checkered buttplate, and 14 3/8 inch length of pull.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus original blue finish with the receiver collar showing a slight plum hue, a few plum patches along the seam of the barrel and barrel rib,
and a few scattered light handling marks. Light cycling wear is visible on the magazine tube. The wood is very fine with some scattered light handling marks, a minor dent on the left of the buttstock, and crisp checkering and strong varnish overall. Mechanically excellent. A must have for the serious Winchester Model 42 collector!
