Desirable Framed Winchester “Comrades” Father and Son Week Model 12 Advertisement Lithograph - This Winchester advertisement is from just after World War I for National Father and Son Week. The event was used by Winchester as a way to subtly advertise their firearms. The image shown in the poster is a father and son on a small game hunt. The father is pointing to a rabbit bounding across the field on a brisk autumn day while giving his son pointers on how to make a good shot, and presumably get then a good meal. Both the father and son are shown armed with Winchester Model 12 shotguns. The top of the poster reads “NATIONAL/FATHER and SON WEEK/FEB., 11-17” with the title of the artwork “Comrades” at the bottom left. The poster is housed in a wooden frame measuring 25 7/8 inches x 36 inches with grey, red, and white matting.
CONDITION: Very fine with some light storage and handling marks on the frame, and vibrant coloration on the image. This rare advertisement would make an excellent addition to any gun room or Winchester collection!
Estimate: 2,500 - 3,750
