Factory Engraved Casimir Weber Backaction Hammer Double Rifle - Serial no. 4070, 500
Black Powder Express cal., 26 13/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a
beaded blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sights on the matted solid rib which is marked “CASIMIR WEBER, ZÜRICH”, German black powder proofs, and chambers with a single extractor. The casehardened Jones underlever back action displays attractive
scroll engraving and features rebounding hammers and dual
single set triggers. Very nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a horn tip, and round knob pistol grip stock with shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling swivel,
casehardened and engraved cartridge trap, and casehardened steel buttplate. Length of pull 14 3/8 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 5 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% original blue finish, 90% original case colors with much of the loss on the lower
tang, minor handling evidence, and overall sharp checkering on the wood with some smoothing at the top of the forend. Mechanically needs work as the right hammer will not hold in the cocked position.

Antique Factory Engraved Holland & Holland Rotary Underlever Backaction Hammer
Double Rifle - Serial no. 5753, 470 cal., 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
walnut stock. Manufactured in 1879 per the information on page 333 of Donald Dallas’
book “Holland & Holland ‘The Royal’ Gunmaker”. Blued steel barrels with a low blade front and three leaf (one standing, two folding) rear sight on the
matted solid rib which is marked with Holland & Holland
address (faded), period London black powder proofs, and chambers with a single extractor. The casehardened
Jones underlever receiver and backaction locks display extensive floral scroll engraving and have “HOLLAND & HOLLAND” signatures on either plate and the load information
“CHARGE 4 1/4 DRAMS CASE 3 INCHES” marked on the left side. The gun features double triggers and non-
rebounding hammers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with rear sling stud,
blank inscription oval, raised cheekpiece, and horn grip cap and buttplate. Length of pull 14 9/16 inches. Weight 9 lbs. 1 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 98% reapplied blue finish on the barrels, fine grey patina on the remainder of the metal, minor handling evidence
heavier on the stock, some minor spotting, and well-defined checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000

Factory Engraved Johann Springer Small Frame Backaction Hammer Double Rifle with Case - Serial no. 7425, 360 cal., 25 5/16 inch solid rib bbl., brown/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Browned Damascus steel barrels with a beaded
blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear
sight on the matted solid rib, band of engraving at either breech, marked “JOH. SPRINGER’S ERBEN IN WIEN” and “K.K.KAMMER GEWEHR LIEFERANTEN” marked on the left and
right respectively. The rifle chambering is unmarked, though given the time period and available measurements, it appear to likely be chambered for .360 Black Powder Express 2 1/4
inch. The casehardened Jones underlever backaction receiver displays fine scroll engraving and are marked
with the maker’s markings on the lockplates and the same markings as on the barrels on the corresponding sides of the receiver. The rifle has
non-rebounding hammers, bar safeties, and dual single set triggers. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved underlever fastener and shoe, and pistol grip stock with casehardened and engraved grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling
swivel, blank inscription oval, and engraved trapdoor buttplate which bears the rifle’s serial number. Includes a period takedown case with correct factory trade label. Length of pull 14 1/8 inches. Weight 5 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining most of the old reapplied brown finish on the barrels, traces of original case colors in the protected areas with the balance a fine
grey, and overall mild handling evidence. The wood is very fine, showing a few dings, scratches, and pressure marks of small-medium size and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
