The stock is extra fancy finely checkered varnished pistol grip with a hard rubber Winchester grip cap and checkered buttplate. The set comes in an oak and leather takedown case with double straps, corner protectors and handle, brass hardware, red lining with leather Winchester label affixed to the inside of the lid. In the case is a gold oiler and two brass snap caps for each barrel set. Barrel measurements for the 28 gauge set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .560/.564 inches; choke constriction .009/.024 inches; minimum wall thickness .027/.022 inches. Barrel and stock measurements with the 20 gauge set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .614/.614 inches; choke constriction .004/.008 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.029 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Masterfully embellished to near mint condition by Angelo Bee. The shotgun retains 99% blue finish with some thinning
on the high point of the tang safety. The 410 barrel set has some heavy rust around one of the rib posts and a couple of other small
areas of rust on top of the barrel rib. The breech end sides of the barrel show some wear from the forearm. The 28 and 20 gauge barrel
sets retain 97% blue finish with some wear from the forearm. All three forearms are excellent with only a few light handling marks and sharp
checkering. The stock is also excellent with a few light scratches and handling marks, with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some scratches, scuffs, and minor corner wear on the exterior, and some stains on the lining. A chance to own one of America’s most iconic shotguns engraved by one of the most prolific master engravers of the 20th century!
