Bartlett-Hayward Company started as a stove maker before moving into foundries, machinery, and engineering, later becoming known for elaborate architectural ironwork including work at the United States Capitol and South Carolina State House.
CONDITION: Excellent. 97% plus original blue finish remains with some light wear and spotting around the muzzle, sharp engraving and markings, and some small scattered handling marks. The wood is very fine with a visible hairline crack at the bottom rear of the forearm, well-defined checkering, and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent. Extra barrel assembly is fine with some muzzle wear and spotting, sharp engraving, some light edge wear at the rear, and a small crack at the bottom rear of the forearm.
