DWM Model 1900
Commercial “American Eagle” Luger Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 9215, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch
round bbl., blue/straw finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in a
serial number range of 2,000-19,000, the Model 1900 was DWM’s
first true commercial production Luger, and the “American Eagle”
variant was intended specifically for the lucrative United States
market. These Lugers have early features such as a grip safety, recessed breech bolt,
dished toggles with toggle lock on the side. Features fixed blade front and notch rear
sights, “American eagle” crest on the chamber, “GERMANY” on front of the frame, and
“DWM” monogram on the front toggle link. Matching visible serial numbers on the barrel and frame, with matching “15” partials on the takedown lever, trigger, side plate, toggle links, extension, and grip safety. It is fitted with walnut checkered grips numbered “15” on the interior and nickel plated magazine with unmarked hardwood base.

lug, flat mainspring, and fast
taper barrel. The left of
the barrel and extension
are marked with Swiss
“cross” proofs, along with
an additional “cross/V” proof
on the extension. With matching
visible serial numbers on the barrel and frame, “142” on the extension, and “42”
partials on the takedown lever, side plate, trigger, toggles , breech block, and grip safety. Fitted with checkered walnut grips numbered “42” on the interior. The nickel finished magazine is fitted with an aluminum insert hardwood base. A leather strap is sowed onto the lanyard loop. Includes a “FR.FRICK/BERN/02” marked brown leather holster and brown leather shoulder strap with magazine carrier.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 85% plus original blue finish and 75% straw colors with light edge wear, fading on the grip safety, and crisp checkering on the excellent grips. The holster is very fine with faint cracking and supple leather. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent 1940 Dated “Mauser Banner” Commercial
Contract Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching
Magazine in 7.65 mm Luger Auto - Serial no. 6709w, 7.65
mm Luger Auto cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
grips. Manufactured in 1940, this Mauser Luger was made for
commercial sale, either on the domestic market or for export.
Blade and notch sights, with “1940” on the chamber, the “Mauser Banner” logo on the front toggle link, and a set of “eagle/N” commercial proofs. The components have been numbered in “military pattern”, with an unnumbered extractor and the other components matching, including on the inside of the grip panels
and on the alloy magazine base. Fitted
with straw finished
small
parts, checkered
hardwood grips, and
a blued magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus original high polish blue finish and 90% plus bright straw color with some light rubbing on the sideplate and minor handling marks overall. The grips show a few dings, but are otherwise excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

no. 3041f, 9 mm cal., 4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
by Mauser in 1935; while the Germans
were still paying lip service to the Treaty
of Versailles, 1935 was the second
year of renewed Luger production,
as the Nazis already had designs on
Lebensraum in Eastern Europe and
payback against the French. Fixed
sights, with the “G” date mark on the
chamber, “S/42” on the front toggle
link, “eagle/63” proofs on the chamber,
and “drop wing eagle” firing proofs on the
extension and breechblock. The barrel is
numbered to match, with an “8,82” inner
diameter mark and no proof stamps.
Straw colored small parts,
niter blue springs, pins and
screws, checkered grips
and a nickel magazine with
aluminum base. Numbers
are matching overall, including on the
grip panels and magazine base. Included with the
lot is a 1935 dated black leather Franz Cobau police holster.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 95% plus professionally restored blue finish, showing some mild wear and handling marks overall. The barrel is a professional replacement. 80% of the bright straw color is present on the small parts, with strong niter blue on the sear spring. Grips are excellent, with some minor stains and crisp checkering. The holster is very good, with light scratches and wear. Mechanically excellent.
