The vibrantly case colored self-opening pinless sidelock actions display fantastic near full coverage Purdey style bouquet & scroll engraving surrounding “GALAZAN” banners on either lockplate
and then flowing off of the action onto both tangs, the top lever which shows another “1” or “2”, and the right hand rolled triggerguard. The highly intricate engraving shows no signature, but
it is clear that it was carried out by the hands of a highly skilled engraver whom is a master of
the craft. Each gun has a single trigger and an automatic tang mounted safety switch. Each gun shows an exceptional, highly figured, exhibition grade, multi-point checkered forend with blued and engraved extended shoe and Anson button release which is inlaid with a “1” or “2” and pistol grip stock with teardrop carved drop points, blued and engraved grip cap, gold inscription oval marked “RWB”, and blued engraved heel and toe plates around the checkered butt. Included is an oak & leather takedown case with a canvas cover that houses both the “A” and “B” guns along with two pairs of snap caps, an oiler, and a set of cleaning tools. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .554/.555 inches; choke constriction .012/.021 inches; minimum wall thickness .032/.032 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; slightly cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 11 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and casehardened finishes with limited handling evidence, crisp engraving, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
