Desirable Late 19th-Early 20th European “Hornback” Crocodile Skin Suitcase - The exterior
of this piece is wrapped in a dark brown crocodile skin, making prominent use of the “horned” back scales on top, the sides, and front. The interior appears to be lined with a smooth, tan pigskin. The dimensions of the lower portion of the interior are 26 1/4 x 16 1/4 x 7 inches. The exterior measures 27 3/4 x 17 3/8 x 8 5/8 inches. CONDITION: Fine, the crocodile skin exterior shows
an attractively aged dark patina with contrasting light coloration on the “hornback” portions. There is some mild-moderate wear/tearing on some of the corners and edges, and a few spots of loose stitching. The interior
is very good with a few light stains, minimal wear, and
a small tear on the zippered pocket. This eye-catching, bespoke “hornback” suitcase would make a fantastic display piece alongside a refined sporting gun collection! Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Desirable Late 19th-Early 20th Century Mappin & Webb Retailed Crocodile Skin Blouse Case - The exterior is wrapped in a medium-brown crocodile skin with the initials “E.H.” impressed on the lid. The interior of the case is lined with tan corduroy and is arranged as a blouse-case, having one large compartment. The interior compartment measures 22 1/4 x 13 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches. The exterior of the case measures 23 3/4 x 15 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches. The rear of the case has a period replacement, hand sewn hinge of brown leather.
CONDITION: Very good, the crocodile skin exterior showing an attractively aged tone with a few scattered darker stains. There are some scattered patches of moderate wear and small pieces absent, as well as a few minor cracks that show old repairs, mostly concentrated on corners and edges. The leather
hinge is a period replacement. The interior is excellent with very minimal wear. Cases such as this remain highly desirable among collectors as an example of turn of the century craftsmanship!

Exceptional Late 19th-Early 20th Century Finnigans Limited Crocodile Skin Dressing Case - The interior has been professionally relined with hand sewn burgundy linen and is now equipped with one large compartment and a smaller divided compartment at the front accessed via two snaps which drop the front face of the case. The large interior compartment measures 20 5/8 x 10 3/4 x 7 inches, while the smaller compartment measures 20 5/8 x 2 1/2 x 7 inches. The exterior of the case measures 22 x 14 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, the crocodile skin exterior shows an mellow, attractively aged patina with a few scattered dark stains, a few scattered minor scratches and scuffs, and some mild wear mostly concentrated on corners and the back/bottom side. The stitching on the exterior remains tight. The relined interior shows only the slightest wear. A masterfully crafted, bespoke piece that remains in exceptionally fine condition!

Desirable Finnigans Limited Made, I. Magnin & Co. Retailed Crocodile Skin Vanity Case - A 13 3/4 x 7 3/4 inch removable mirror is securely mounted in the lining of the lid. The interior is lined with bronze colored satin moire and includes a loose diamond patterned divider to protect the exposed surface of the mirror. The lower portion of the case is divided into multiple smaller compartments, including twelve which are open and four with matching crocodile skin lids. The lower portion of the interior measures 17 5/8 x 11 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches, and the exterior dimensions are 18 5/8 x 13 1/16 x 3 inches.
CONDITION: Excellent, the crocodile skin exterior of this desirable case shows a very attractive, chocolate tone, aged patina, some mild handling wear concentrated on corners, a few minor handling marks, and tight stitching overall. The interior is very fine with a few minor stains and otherwise
insignificant wear. Cases such as this are incredibly desirable among
collectors!
