Factory Master Ferruccio Iora Signed and Game Scene Engraved Ivo Fabbri Sidelock Ejector Over/Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 3197, 12 gauge, 27 9/16 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Ivo Fabbri got his start in firearms along side one of the most well-known names in the business Daniele Perazzi. After they split, Perazzi went on to create arguably the world’s finest shooting gun, and Fabbri perused his dream to build the finest guns in the world. Fabbri guns are some of the best and most exclusive in the world with only some 30 built per year. Built using a combination of advanced technology and old world craftsmanship, they are all truly works of art. The gun has blued steel barrels with a single nickel bead sight on the matted vent rib, “ARMI - FABBRI - BRESCIA” on the left, “-BOHLER SUPER BLITZ STEEL-” marked on the right, attractive light scroll at the breech, 1972 dated Italian proofs, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished sidelock action was engraved by Italian Master Engraver Ferruccio Iora who has cut highly attractive tight scrollwork surrounding game scenes on the left, right, and underside. The right shows three panel scenes with a black grouse at the rear, a setter on point in the center and a trio of Ptarmigan, the underside shows a flock of geese in a pond setting, and the left lockplate has three panels with a snipe at the rear, a pointer in the center, and three more Ptarmigans at the front. Iora has signed his work “INC. Iora F.” on the triggerplate. The gun has a single non- selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety. The wood shows exceptional figure on the forend and straight grip stock which feature multi-point checkering, engraved fittings, a blank inscription oval near the toe, and a checkered bare butt. Included with the gun is an oak & leather takedown case containing a pair of snap caps. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech proofed at 18.5/18.4mm (.728/.724 inches) and measured .730/.728 inches; choke constriction .024/.037 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.030 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 1 13/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 2 oz.
