Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Evolution of Hunting Themed Set of Three F.lli Gamba Sidelock Ejector Double Barrel Shotguns -A) F.lli Gamba Sidelock Shotgun - Serial no. 63015, 12 gauge, 27 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ coin/gold finish, walnut stock. Fratelli (F.lli) Gamba are known for building bespoke guns and rifles on a custom order basis and produce some of the finest in the world. This magnificent trio of guns are all built with blued Bohler steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight on the matted flat solid rib, bands of engraving at the breech, 1979 dated Italian proof marks on the flats, import mark under the forend, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The guns are numbered “1”, “2”, and “3” for their respective place in the set at the base of the rib, on the pierced toplever, and the Anson button forend release. All three guns have coin finished sidelock actions with gold inlaid hunting scenes from different eras of human civilization with the surrounding areas covered by floral scrollwork over finely executed punchdot backgrounds. Gun “A” shows a group of paleo- hunters gathered preparing tools for the hunt in their village on the left lockplate and the right shows the men returning to the village with a small deer and the women rushing to greet them.
