Factory Felix Funken Double Signed and Master Engraved Belgian Browning Grade IV Superposed Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 54461, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1957. Blued steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted vent rib, standard markings, a band of oak leaf engraving at the breech, chokes marked “**”/”*” (modified/ full), and chambers marked 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The coin finished action displays the Grade IV pattern from the 1950s showing a vixen bringing a mallard to her pups in a hollow on the left, a pair of pointers retrieving pheasants on the right, and a pair of pigeons on the underside and a pair of pheasant on the triggerguard. The scenes are surrounded by Germanic oak leaf relief engraving. The gun is signed “FFunken” on both sides of the action for FN Chief Engraver Felix Funken. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted safety/selector with gold “U”, “O”, and “S”. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with Browning buttplate. Includes a French fit walnut carry case with red velour lining and a shipping box. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .731/.733 inches; choke constriction .015/.034 inches; minimum wall thickness .045/.037 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 9/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 12 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine. Belgian Browning Superposed Diana Grade Skeet Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 56054S7, 12 gauge, 26 1/2
inch vent rib bbl., blue/French grey finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1967. Blued Special Steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, single band of engraving at the upper breech, chokes marked “**$”/”**$” (skeet/skeet), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The French grey action is engraved in the Diana Grade pattern with flowing scroll designs surrounding four game scenes depicting four of mallards in a marsh on the right, a covey of pheasant in a wooded scene on the left, a pair of quail on the underside, and a pair of rabbits on the trigger guard. The action is signed “L ACAMPO” on the right side beneath the game scene for FN engraver Louis Acampo. Single gold washed trigger and tang mounted safety/selector switch with gold “S”, “O”, and “U”. Wonderfully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip buttstock with Browning ventilated recoil pad. Includes original box. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bores nine inches from the breech measured at .725/.725 inches; choke constriction .005/.0010 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.037 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 13 13/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 15 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and French grey finishes with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. LOT 3732 Upgraded Belgian Browning Superposed Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 2174S9, 12 gauge, 26 3/8 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1969 and subsequently embellished. Blued steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted vent rib with gold inlay at the breech and a spray of floral scroll engraving on either side of the rib, chokes marked “**_”/”**” (improved cylinder/modified); 2 3/4 inch chamber with ejectors which are hand marked “SK.” The blued action displays floral scroll engraving surrounding a setter and a pair of pheasant on the left, a duo of ducks on the right and a retriever bust on the underside with all the animals inlaid in gold as well as gold wire borders. The floral and gold border motifs extend on the fences, and top lever with engraving surrounding a gold initial oval. Fitted with a single trigger and tang mounted safety/selector. Fitted with a wonderfully figured multipoint checkered walnut forearm with engraved and gold inlaid fittings and pistol grip buttstock with Browning ventilated recoil pad. Includes a Browning leatherette takedown case. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% blue finish with limited handling marks, some pitting under the finish where the stock meets the action, and crisp engraving. The replacement wood is very fine with a few minor handling marks, a hairline crack on the left flat at the action, and crisp checkering. Case is fine. Mechanically excellent.
