French grey finish, pearlite grips. Manufactured in
1977. Features fixed blade and notch sights, standard markings
and Belgian proofs, full coverage Renaissance grade leafy scroll engraving, and smooth faux pearl grips.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original finish with minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Early Cased Factory Engraved Belgian Browning Renaissance Semi-Automatic Pistol Set -A) Belgian Browning Renaissance High-Power Pistol - Serial no. 71379, 9 mm Luger cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., coin finish, pearlite grips. With a letter from Commemorative Arms of St. Louis, Missouri, listing the set as verified by Chip Hewlett as a genuine Browning Renaissance factory set sold to
A. L. Paulson Sporting Goods in Chicago, Illinois, on
June 15, 1954. The letter also listed the current grips
on each pistol as replacements. Each pistol features
fixed front and rear sights, standard markings, and floral scroll engravings with subdued background with factory coin/high polish finish. Fitted with smooth pearlite grips. Includes a factory walnut display
case for the entire set.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining an original bright appearance with light handling marks and crisp engraving. Nearly all original gold remains on the trigger. The display case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
B) Belgian Browning Renaissance Model 1955 Pistol - Serial no. 517789, 9 mm short cal., 3 3/8 inch round bbl., coin finish, pearlite grips. See “A.”
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining an original bright appearance with light handling marks and crisp engraving. Most of the original gold remains on the trigger. Mechanically excellent. C) Belgian Browning Renaissance Baby Pistol - Serial no. 122072, 25 ACP cal., 2 1/8 inch round bbl., coin finish, pearlite grips. Power Pistol - Serial no.
72C47541, 9 mm Luger
cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., French grey finish,
pearlite grips. The included factory letter lists the
four consecutively serialized pistols as shipped
to Wilson’s Riviera Buy and Sell in Riviera Beach,
Florida, on September 18, 1972. Manufactured
in 1972, and consecutively serialized with the
other three pistols in the lot. Features fixed
blade and notch sights, standard markings and
Belgian proofs, full coverage
Renaissance grade leafy scroll
engraving with game scenes
on the slides of all four pistols
with a hound chasing two
pheasants in a woodland on the left, encircled
hound with rabbit in mouth on top, and hound
chasing three ducks through a woodland on the
right and smooth faux pearl grips. Each pistol is
signed “R DEWIL” on either the left or right side
game scenes. Includes an article copy of the cover
story from the March-April 2004 newsletter of
the Browning Collectors Association by Roger
Quisenberry, which recounts his efforts to request
Browning to create the custom
set, the use of the renaissance
pattern engraving found on the
Browning Grade III .22 LR rifles,
and the work on all four pistols
performed by R. DeWil.
