Colt Second Generation Single Action
Army Revolver with Original Black
Box - Serial no. 27945SA, 38 Special cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard
rubber grips. Manufactured in 1959. This is one of only 741 blue and casehardened .38 Special
Second Generation Single Action Army revolvers chambered in Don Wilkerson’s “The Post-War
Colt Single Action Army Revolver 1955-1975.” Standard markings and features. Matching serial numbers are
found on the frame, triggerguard, and back strap, with a partial serial number inside the grip panels and on the front face of the cylinder. Assembly number “922” marked on the loading gate and rear of the frame. Includes the original Colt black box. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and case colors with minimal handling marks, a faint, partial cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with tape repairs.

5470SA, 38 Special cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, stag grips. The included factory
letter lists this pair as chambered in .38 Special with 7 1/2 inch barrels, blue finish, and grips not listed when
shipped to Von Lengerke & Antoine in Chicago, Illinois on August 27, 1956. The pair is fitted with blade front
and frame notch rear sights and bear standard markings. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, triggerguard, and backstrap, as well as matching assembly numbers on the loading gate and cylinder. Included with the
pair is the original Colt black box for each revolver. Page 102 in Don Wilkerson’s “Colt Single-Action Revolver Handbook 1955-1975” states that only 2,881 revolvers in this configuration were made.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and vivid case colors with limited handling marks and a faint partial cylinder drag line. Grips are very fine period replacements with an attractive aged coloration. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine. B) Colt Single Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 5469SA, 38 Special cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, stag grips. As described in “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and vivid case colors with limited handling marks and a faint cylinder drag line. Grips are very fine period replacments with an attractive aged coloration.
Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine.
