LOT 446 World War II German Mauser K98k High Turret Sniper Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 10284f, 7.92 mm Mauser cal., 23 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, laminate stock. This is a representative example of a World War II German high turret sniper rifle that was manufactured by the Mauser factory, and fitted with an Ajack 4X90 sniper scope. The top of the receiver ring is covered by the front turret scope base, reinforced with correct late war style soldering around the edges. The breech end of the barrel, left of the receiver and left of the rear scope base correctly have a small “eagle/135” proof from the Mauser factory, with the receiver side wall marked “Mod.98”. The rifle has a stamped steel trigger guard housing, floorplate and front barrel band, with a milled rear barrel band, and a cupped steel buttplate. Various components are stamped with “eagle/135” proofs. Full and partial matching serial numbers marked on the receiver, barrel bands, rear sight, floorplate, left side of the professionally renumbered to match, refinished front scope ring, and the late war laminated stock is matching serial numbered with “10284” stamped inside the stock channel as well as on the inside of the laminated handguard. “46675+” marked on the right below the scope dial. The arsenal replacement bolt and its components are unnumbered. “44D357” marked around the breech of the barrel. The scope has the correct style sniper elevation knob on top graduated from 100-800 meters. Fitted with a correct period brown leather sling maker marked “L&F” (Linden & Funke KG, Iserlohn) on the buckle. Includes reproduction leather scope caps. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% arsenal quality refurbished blue finish with a few areas of light pitting visible beneath the finish. Stock is also fine as lightly arsenal sanded and re-oiled, with some light handling marks, a hairline crack visible on top of the wrist behind the receiver, and lightly visible stamps. Mechanically excellent. Scope is also very fine with 85% arsenal refurbished blue finish and a few very small patches of minor pitting visible underneath the finish, and mostly clear optics with some minor hazing. Excellent and Desirable World War II German Walther “ac/44” Code “Panel Cut” G43 Semi-Automatic Rifle with ZF4 Sniper Scope - Serial no. 109b, 7.92 mm Mauser cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, laminate stock. This is a mid-World War II Walther manufactured G43 sniper rifle, with the early type small milled oval panel area on the left side of the receiver below the rear sight marked “G.43” followed by the serial number “109b” of the second production block and “ac/44” code. Hooded blade front sight and military tangent rear sight graduated 1-12. The bolt carrier is fitted with a solid cocking handle and a bolt catch. Right side scope mounting rail, threaded muzzle, fitted with a smooth pistol grip laminated stock with a cupped trapdoor buttplate, Waffenamt stamp on the front of the pistol grip and left of the buttstock, matching serial number “109b” on the receiver, bolt carrier and stamped on the underside of the buttstock, “aye” code “G43” marked magazine, and wearing a period brown leather sling. Fitted with a period ZF4 scope in a reproduction mount, with the left of the scope tube marked in three lines “Gw ZF 4/72813/ddx.” and a triangle next to “K 43”. “Eagle/359” and “6073” marked on the reproduction scope mount. Includes reproduction leather/cork scope lens caps. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus original wartime blue and phosphate finishes overall. The magazine retains 90% original black painted finish. The stock is very fine with a few light handling marks and defined edges and stamps. Mechanically excellent. The included scope is very fine with slightly hazy optics. Estimate: 5,000 - 7,000
