Excellent Tokyo Arsenal Baby Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol Rig with Matching Magazine and Holster - Serial no. 2929, 7mm cal., 3 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured by the Tokyo Arsenal from 1909 to 1928, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer’s pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military; officers would privately purchase their sidearms, with the Baby Nambu presented as the local alternative to imports from firms like Colt, FN and Walther. Fixed sights, with the “stacked cannonball” arsenal marking on top of the chamber and the nomenclature markings and serial number on the right side of the frame. Fitted with checkered grips and a nickel finished, alloy base magazine. Minus the firing pin numbers are matching overall, including the insides of the grips and the magazine. Included with the pistol is a fine brown leather/pigskin clamshell holster, with a leather shoulder strap and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Excellent, with 90% plus original blue finish,
showing the start of a brown patina and mild spotting concentrated on the gripstraps, as well as light handling marks overall. The grips are also excellent, with some light dings, and the holster shows minor cracking and scuffing. The firing pin tip is broken, otherwise mechanically excellent. Estimate: 8,500 - 11,000

Exceptional World War II Imperial Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 2 Bolt Action Paratrooper Rifle - Serial no. 17045, 7.7 mm Japanese cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. Designed as a takedown version of the standard Type 99 Arisaka bolt action service
rifle for use by Imperial Army paratroopers, utilizing a screw wedge on the right side to allow the barrel and forend section to separate from the action and stock section. Features fixed winged blade front sight and folding rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, a retained mum on the receiver, metal dust cover, smooth pistol grip stock with cupped buttplate, partial matching serial number “045” marked on the underside of the bayonet lug, bolt handle, extractor, dust cover, and underside of the barrel lug, along with “779” assembly number on various components. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall, retaining 85% plus original blue finish with smooth brown patina, scattered light spotting/pitting, minor thinning, and scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
