Serial no. 578996, 300 Win magnum cal., 25 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1963. Fitted with a ramped, hooded, beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked on the left with the Winchester address,
model, and caliber marking. “WP” proofs stamped on the top of the chamber and receiver. The straight tang receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark on the left and the serial number on the right of the receiver ring. Mounted in a multipoint checkered, straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with sling loops, Monte Carlo comb, and ventilated recoil pad. This rifle is consecutively serialized with the next lot. CONDITION: Excellent plus overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with minor handling marks concentrated on the receiver. Stock is very fine with a few minor dings and scratches. Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Alaskan Bolt Action Rifle in .338 Winchester Magnum - Serial no. 578997, 338 Win magnum cal., 25 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1962. Fitted with a ramped, hooded, beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked on the left with the Winchester
address, model, and caliber marking. “WP” proofs stamped on the top of the chamber and left of the receiver ring. The straight tang receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark on the left and the serial number on the right of the receiver ring. Mounted in a multipoint checkered, straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with sling loops, Monte Carlo comb, and ventilated red rubber recoil pad. This rifle is consecutively numbered to the previous lot. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with a couple light handling marks concentrated on the receiver. Stock is very fine with a couple minor dings and scratches as well as crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500 LOT 557 Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Carbine in .35 Remington - Serial no. 39322, 35 Rem cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1941 (receiver). It is chambered in 35 Remington, a caliber that was introduced and offered for a short time on pre-64 Model 70s. Hooded ramp front sight, filler block in the rear sight dovetail slot and Lyman receiver sight (stock inletted). The barrel has the two line address on the right side with the Winchester address on the left side. A Winchester factory style oval proof is stamped on the barrel and receiver. The receiver is tapped for scope mounting at the front. Pre-war safety, cloverleaf receiver tang, solid bolt handle, polished bolt numbered to gun and sling swivels. The straight comb pistol grip stock features checkering and a checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The carbine retains nearly all of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The stock is very good with some scattered minor handling marks and some blemishes and moderate wear in the checkering. Mechanically excellent. The barrel is marked on the left with the Winchester address, model, and caliber markings. “WP” proofs are stamped on the barrel and receiver. The straight tang receiver is marked on the left with the Winchester trademark and on the right with the serial number on the receiver ring. Mounted in a multipoint checkered, straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with Monte Carlo comb, sling loops, and a red rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks. Stock is very fine with scattered dings and scratches as well as overall crisp checkering. of the receiver ring and topped off with a Lyman Model 48 peep sight. The aluminum floorplate is marked “- SUPER GRADE-”. Mounted in a multipoint checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with contrasting forend cap, sling loops, blued steel grip cap, cheekpiece, and checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks and some high edge wear. Stock is very fine with scattered dings and scratches, a couple small finish chips, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Winchester address and model and caliber markings. “WP” proofs are stamped on the left of the chamber and receiver. The straight tang receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark on the left and serial number on the right of the receiver ring. Mounted in a multipoint checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with sling loops and checkered aluminum buttplate. Includes original box. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% original blue finish with a couple minor handling marks. Stock is very fine with a couple small chips at the buttplate. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good.
