Outstanding Special Order Deluxe, Factory Engraved Early Production Pre-War Walther Model PPK Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 788002, 7.65 mm auto cal., 3 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, checkered full wrap around walnut grips. This is a unique special order factory engraved example of an extremely early production Walther PPK with a very nicely executed pre-war engraving, deluxe walnut grips, and wooden base on the magazine. Early production, with the 90 degree safety mounted on the matching number slide and
the chamber indicator immediately below the rear sight. Markings are standard, with the left side of the slide showing the “WALTHER” banner next to “Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther’s Patent Cal. 7,65 m/m” and “Mod. PPK”. Engraving is done in a scroll and vine pattern with textured backgrounds, covering approximately 75% of the exposed surfaces. Rare special order “AP” style full wrap around walnut one piece grip, with excellent grain, checkered side panels and backstrap and a matching grain wood finger grip extension with textured sides. Writer cannot recall another example of a factory engraved Walther PPK pistol like this one!
