Highly Desirable Walter Kolouch Master Engraved and Precious Metal Inlaid
Mannlicher Stocked Bolt Action Sporting Rifle - NSN, 7 mm Mauser cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish,
walnut stock. Built in 1967 by master engraver, gunsmith, and stockmaker Walter Kolouch. Kolouch is around the world for
being one of the premier names in custom firearms. He mastered not just engraving, but stockmaking and gunsmithing as well. In several
newspapers he stated he learned all the skills to avoid what he described as a “committee effort” that other guns have when many people all work on them.
The rifle features ramped beaded blade front and fixed standing leaf rear sights, as well as German style claw mounts. The top of the barrel is marked “PARKER DIST.
GUNMAKER NEW ROCHELLE. NY”. The action, barrel, floorplate, triggerguard, and fittings are all masterfully floral scroll engraved with a gold relief inlaid knight’s head above the
Lynch family crest and a deer bust inlaid on the floorplate. Mounted in a nicely figured, multipoint checkered walnut Mannlicher stock with engraved fittings, floral scroll carving on the Bavarian cheekpiece, and blued Neidner buttplate. Includes a signed letter from Kolouch stating he made the rifle and several photographs of the rifle.
CONDITION: Excellent as professionally built by Master Engraver Walter Kolouch, retaining 99% plus blue finish with a few minor handling marks and crisp engraving. Stock is very fine with scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. This is your chance to get your hands on a rifle special made by Walter Kolouch!
