Factory Master Pierre Lallemand Signed, Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Fabrique Nationale 20 Gauge Sideplated Superposed Shotgun - Serial no. 37144V5, 20 gauge, 26 3/8 inch vent rib bbl., blue/
atted vent rib, “Fabrique Nationale Herstal” the chamber length “CAL. 20 2 3/4’ AND 3’”
   coin/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1965 and built with blued steel barrels
featuring a single nickel bead sight on the m marked on the left of the upper tube and
marked on the right, import mark near lumps, band of engraving at the breech, chokes
marked improved cylinder/modified, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are mated to a beautifully coin
finished sideplated action which displays extensive scroll engraving surrounding a trio of gold game bird scenes and extending onto the triggerguard, toplever, and both tangs. The game scenes consist of a trio of quail in flight over a field on the left, a snipe in flight on the underside, and a trio of pheasant roosters in flight over a field on the right, all of which are executed in fine semi-relief gold inlay. The engraving is signed on the left side below the scene “P.LALLEMAND” for FN factory Master Engraver Pierre Lallemand. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted manual safety/selector with gold inlaid “S”, “O’, and “U” indicators. The gun is fitted with gorgeous highly figured and multi-point checkered three- piece forend with engraved fittings and a straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bores nine inches from the breech measured at .626/.625 inches; choke constriction .007/.013 inches; minimum wall thickness .045/.046 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 5 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue, coin, and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to own a piece by a fantastic engraver! single gold washed trigger and tang mounted safety/selector with gold “S”, “O”, and “U”. Attractively figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and round knob pistol grip stock with Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bores nine inches from the breech measured at .724/.725 inches; choke constriction .022/.029 inches; minimum wall thickness .052/.054 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 1 3/4 inch drop at heel; 13 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 6 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish on the barrels, 99% original coin finish on the action, and overall minor handling evidence. The wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches, an ill-fitting replacement recoil pad, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
