Factory Game Scene Engraved Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. 28 Gauge RBL Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. RBL003157, 28 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels with single brass bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib showing a flourish
of scroll engraving, wedges of scroll engraving at either
breech, standard barrel markings, chokes marked improved cylinder/modified, and 2 3/4 inch
chambers with ejectors. Fitted to a casehardened action which displays scroll engraving with “RBL-28” marked on the underside along with a grouse in flight, a setter on the left, and a pointer on the right. The gun
features gold double triggers, double rolled triggerguard, and tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and a straight grip stock with
a leather wrapped recoil pad. Includes a takedown case containing a pair of nickel snap caps, nickel oiler, and a set of cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 15 5/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 5 lbs. 15 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence, a few light pressure marks in the wood, a couple stress lines at the upper tang, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single brass bead sight
on the smooth concave solid rib, standard barrel markings, 3” chambers with ejectors, and interchangeable choke system (modified/full installed). The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action which displays scroll engraving surrounding a pair of pheasants on
the left and a trio of mallards on the right. The gun features double gold triggers, double rolled triggerguard, and tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fitting and a pistol grip stock with blued grip cap and a Galazan rubber recoil pad. Includes takedown case containing two snap caps.
Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb, 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 9 lbs. stock. Both guns are built with blued steel barrels with single brass bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked with a gold “1” or “2” and a flourish of scroll engraving, wedges of scroll engraving at either breech, standard barrel markings, interchangeable chokes (modified/improved cylinder installed), and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. Both guns have casehardened actions which display near full coverage scroll engraving with an “RBL” banner on the underside and a gold inlaid “1”
or “2” on the toplever. The guns feature a gold single selective trigger and tang mounted automatic safety. The guns are mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved shoe and a gold “1” or “2” on the underside along with a pistol grip stock with blued steel grip cap and Decelerator
recoil pad. Includes a takedown case that houses both guns containing four snap caps and six extra choke tubes (two skeet, two improved modified, and two full), and cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 3/4 inch drop at heel; 13 9/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 97% original blue finish, 99% original case colors, minor spotting near the base of the rib along with evidence of cleaning, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. B) C.S.M.C. RBL Shotgun - Serial no. RBL002717, 20 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. As described in “A”. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 13 3/4 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 98% original blue finish, 99% original case colors, evidence of cleaning at the base of the rib, a some dings and scratches on the stock, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,500 - 8,500
