Factory Jose Baerten Signed Gold Inlaid Belgian Browning Bicentennial Superposed Shotgun with Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. NY1776-11, 12 gauge, 28 inch vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured as a limited run of 51 shotguns with one made for every

walnut stock. Manufactured in 1967. Blued steel barrels with a dual steel bead sights on the matted vent rib, single band of engraving
at the upper breech, chokes marked “**$”/”**$” (skeet/skeet), and 3 inch chambers with ejectors. The French grey receiver is engraved in the Diana Grade pattern with flowing scroll designs surrounding four game scenes depicting mallards in a marsh on the right, a covey of pheasant in a wooded scene
on the left, a pair of quail on the underside, and a pair of rabbits on the trigger guard. The action is signed “G Cargnel” on
the left sided beneath the game scene for FN Engraver Gino Cargnel. Single gold washed trigger and tang mounted safety/
selector switch with gold “S”, “O”, and “U”. Mounted in a beautifully figured and contrasted multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip buttstock with round pistol grip knob and Browning buttplate. Includes original box and factory letter listing the current configuration when shipped to Sportsmens Trading Post in Ravena, New York on February 4, 1971 on invoice 8378. Stock Measurements: 1 3/8 inch drop at the heel; 2 inch drop at the heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with minimal handling marks and crisp engraving. Forend is excellent as well with minimal handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp checkering. Stock is very fine with a hairline crack along the grain and overall crisp checking. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good.

blued sideplated action displays a gold inlaid eagle with gold and silver Old Glory running behind it and “NEW YORK 1788” at the bottom on the left sideplate and a gold inlaid buckskin clad hunter
and a turkey with “ELEVENTH STATE” at the bottom on the right sideplate. The rest of the action, top lever, and triggerguard is
inlaid with thin wire borders with “1776-1976” inside a traditional laurel. The left sideplate is signed “J. BAERTEN” for FN engraver Jose Baerten. Mounted in a nicely figured
multipoint checkered walnut Schnable tip forend with Deeley latch release and gold inlaid wire border on the shoe and straight grip stock with skip line checkered plastic
buttplate. Includes original box and factory letter (serial no. 56552S76/NY1776-11) listing the current configuration when shipped to Male Town Inc. in White Plains, New
York on December 29, 1976 on invoice number 152754, along with a copy of the invoice. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .726/.718 inches; choke constriction .018/.034 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.041 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.
