Factory Felix Funken Double Signed and Master Engraved Belgian Browning Grade IV Superposed Shotgun with
Case - Serial no. 22856, 12 gauge, 30 inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1951. Blued steel barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard markings, a band of oak leaf
engraving at the breech, chokes marked “**”/”*” (modified/full), and chambers marked 2 3/4 inches
with automatic ejectors. The coin finished action displays the Grade IV pattern from the 1950s showing a vixen bringing a
mallard to her pups in a hollow on the left, a pair of pointers retrieving pheasants on the right, and a pair of pigeons on the
underside and a pair of pheasant on the triggerguard. The scenes are surrounded by Germanic oak leaf relief engraving. The gun is signed “FFunken” on both sides of the action
for FN Chief Engraver Felix Funken. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted safety/selector with gold “U”, “O”, and “S”. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend
with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with Browning ventilated recoil pad. Includes a Browning Tolex takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .726/.724 inches; choke constriction .016/.032 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.036 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 1 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and coin finishes with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.

Manufactured in 1964. Blued steel barrel with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard markings, wedges scroll engraving at the breech end, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and “**$”/”**$”
(skeet/skeet) marked chokes. The blued action displays full coverage scroll engraving on punchdot
background surrounding game bird scenes showing a trio of pheasant on the left, three mallards on the right, and a grouse on the underside. The birds are rendered in fine semi-relief gold inlay with gold
inlaid borders around the scenes on the sides of the action. The piece is signed “Vrancken” on the left side at the bottom of the left
game scene. The triggerguard and tangs are engraved with matching scroll and checker board patterns and a blank initial shield at the center of the triggerguard. Beautifully figured,
multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a pistol grip stock with ventilated Browning recoil pad. Includes a Browning Hartmann case and factory letter confirming the
current configuration when shipped to Cullen and Boren in Dallas, Texas, on October 15, 1965, on invoice number 69062. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .727/.723 inches; choke constriction .003/.003 inches; minimum wall thickness .036/.033 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at heel; 13 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 9 oz.
