drop at the heel; and 14 3/8 inch length of pull with an inspection started date of September 1, 1954, and finished date of September 28, 1954. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .729/.730 inches; choke constriction .014/.029 inches; minimum

CONDITION: Very fine as refinished with 90% plus blue finish, limited handling marks, and some light pitting on the underside. LOT 1474 Pre-World War II Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Skeet Shotgun - Serial no. 20471, 410 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1936. Single steel bead sight, “35” date, standard Winchester markings, chamber marked 3 inches, and choke marked skeet. The receiver is unadorned aside from the Winchester “WP” proof
and the serial number. Straight grain, checkered forend and straight grip stock with Winchester buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at the comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at the heel; 13 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% original blue finish, showing streaks of grey patina on the front section of the magazine tube, mild high edge wear, and scattered handling marks. Pre-World War II Winchester 16 Gauge Model 21 Double Barrel Shotgun with Records Letter - Serial no. 12430, 16 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, fancy checkered walnut stock. Built with blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with a dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, standard barrel markings, chokes marked improved cylinder/
full, and chambers marked 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a blued action which is unadorned aside from “SKEET” marked on the triggerplate and features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Mounted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend and pistol grip stock with
a Pachmayr White-Line recoil pad. The included Cody Museum record search confirms the current finish, wood grade, and stock
dimensions when inspection was completed on September 9th, 1938, for sale to Metropolitan Distributing Co. The records also indicate two additional dates of interest, August 25, 1947, and July 6th, 1949, likely dates of return for work or refinishing. Barrel and stock measurements
(R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .668/.669 inches; choke constriction .005/.026 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.039 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 11 oz. professionally refinished blue, some minor softening of the markings, soft brown coloration forming around the edges of the triggerplate, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock. LOT 1476 Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Shotgun - Serial no. 128734, 410 gauge, 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1957. Single steel bead sight on the ribless barrel, standard markings, 3 inch chamber, and choke marked full. Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrel and receiver. Nicely figured 14-groove forend and smooth pistol grip stock with Winchester plastic checkered buttplate. Stock measurements: drop at the comb 1 7/16 inches; drop at the heel 2
3/16 inches, length of pull 13 15/16 inches; weight 6 lbs.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with some minor slide wear, some scattered grey on the edges, and some very minor handling marks.
