Colt maroon box and a bore brush. The
included factory letter confirms the current
configuration (stocks not listed) of caliber, barrel length, and finish when shipped to John J. Tobler of Union City, New Jersey, on October 23, 1939, in a lone shipment.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with a minor cylinder drag line and limited handling marks. Replacement grips are also excellent with scraped original serial numbers under both panels and defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with reproduction end label and moderate edge wear.

New Army and
New Navy Double Action Revolver - Serial no. 258519, 38
Long Colt cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1906 with the standard two-line address and patent dates on top of the
barrel, “COLT. D.A. 38” on the left of the barrel, circled Rampant Colt on the
left rear of the frame, serial number on the butt, and matching assembly
number “362” on the frame, crane, and cylinder latch. Fitted with blade and
frame groove sights, nitre blue trigger, hammer, and screws, and diamond pattern
checkered grips, each numbered “372” on the inside.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 75% plus of the bright original high polish blue
finish and 75% plus of the original nitre blue with the balance having thinned to mostly a
smooth grey patina, primarily on the barrel and grip straps. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1924. Features fixed blade front
and notch rear sights, the two-
line manufacturer address on
top of the barrel, and the model
and caliber markings on the left
side. The left side of the trigger guard
is marked “VP” and “3,” and the “Rampant Colt”
logo is marked on the left side of the frame. Fitted with a
pair of matching checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallion
inserts, with each numbered “205261” in pencil on the interior. Includes a brown leather holster marked “BIFFAR/CHICAGO” and “345
PPS 385.” Includes a signed letter from Auction Productions Inc. of Humboldt, Arizona, in which the pistol is purported to have been
the former property of Giuseppe Shilla, an immigrant from Colabria, Italy, who was a part time driver for Don Franco, a member of Al
Capone’s Chicago based crime family. Shilla was allegedly given the revolver by Franco for “family protection.” The letter notes that this
information was relayed to a noted California based collector who purchased both the revolver and holster in the Chicago area.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with light edge wear on the muzzle and barrel, a slight cylinder drag line, and a few small areas of faint spotting on the back grip strap. The grips are very fine with rich added oil finish and crisp checkering. The holster is very fine with slight cracking and supple leather. Mechanically excellent.

Revolver with Very Scarce
and Desirable 3 Inch Short
Barrel, Pearl Grips, and Factory
Letter - Serial no. 15378, 38 Long Colt cal.,
3 inch round bbl., nickel finish, pearl grips. Manufactured in 1891, this very fine, commercial Colt Model 1889 Navy revolver is in the original Model 1889 configuration with
      counter clockwise rotating cylinder and the scarce and desirable three inch barrel. The included factory letter confirms the configuration, grips not listed, as well as shipment to Shoverling, Daly & Gales in New York on 22 September 1891. The top of the barrel has the standard three-line Colt address and patent dates, while the left is marked “COLT. D.A. 38”. The assembly number “899” is marked on the bottom of the barrel, rear face of the cylinder, frame, crane, and cylinder latch, while the serial number is on the butt. It has a blade front sight and groove rear sights, and is fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the untouched original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking and light wear, primarily on edges. The grips are also very fine with a minor chip at the bottom of the right panel and some light handling marks. The cylinder lockup is loose, otherwise mechanically fine. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250

on left side plate, and checkered silver Colt medallion grips. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, some minor high edge wear, and a faint cylinder drag line. Grips are very fine with some dings and scratches and overall crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
