The barrels are fitted to a highly attractive brush bright finished sidelock action which displays extensive floral scroll and surrounding “HOLLAND & HOLLAND” banners on either lockplate and “ROYAL/HAMMERLESS/EJECTOR” on the underside along with “PATENT/SINGLE TRIGGER” before extending to the triggerguard, both tangs, and
the toplever which is marked with a gold inlaid “2”. The gun features a single trigger, gold centerlined cocking indicators on either lockplate, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Anson button release as well as a straight grip stock with teardrop carved drop points, blank gold inscription oval, and checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at .729 inches and measured .730 inches; choke constriction .006/.019 inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.027 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 99% blue and brush bright finishes with minor handling evidence, some minor discoloration on the action, a few small dings in the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The safety switch has broken and no longer covers “SAFE”when in firing position, but function fine. Mechanically excellent. A great chance to own a fine British gun by one of the world’s finest makers! Estimate: 8,000 - 13,000

Holland & Holland Marked Oak & Elephant Leather Double Rifle Takedown Case - This is a
scarce Holland & Holland, elephant leather covered double rifle takedown case. Black oak & black elephant leather takedown case with Holland & Holland trade label on the interior lid lined in
green felt. The case contains a set of snap caps marked Holland & Holland, a set of oilers marked Holland & Holland, horn handled chamber brush with two attachments, and a two-piece cleaning
rod in its own matching leather pouch. Included is the key inside a matching leather pouch. The
lid is marked with the initials “MLB” in the silver oval. The case appears to fit two double rifles with maximum barrel lengths of 24 inches. The case is protected by a canvas cover with leather straps, marked on the lid M.L.B/.375HH & .500HH.
CONDITION: Excellent, showing very little wear and smooth surfaces. The latches are in good order. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500 313
