   Greener Single Barrel Trap Shotgun with Case Owned by John M. Studebaker Jr. - Serial no. 66330, 12 gauge, 34 inch vent
rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Originally built for John M. Studebaker Jr., the son of famous inventor John M. Studebaker of South Bend, Indiana. This gun was then given as a gift to a friend from Studebaker Jr.’s from his wife after his passing in 1947 as shown by the included letter to that effect. The gun was built with a blued steel barrel featuring a single bead sight on the matted flat vent rib, “W.W. GREENER. 29 PALL MALL. LONDON S.W.” and “AND BIRMINGHAM.” signed on the left and right of the
rib, deep scroll engraving at the breech, correct period Birmingham proofs, and a 2 3/4 inch chamber with automatic ejector. The barrel is fitted to a highly attractive casehardened boxlock action which displays relief cut raptors on
the fences, deep cut scroll surrounding “W.W. GREENER” signatures on either side, a setter flushing a pheasant on
the right, a mallard on the underside, and a pointed flushing a quail on the left before continuing onto the toplever, triggerguard, Greener safety, and both tangs. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and fancy checkered forend
with carved horn tip and engraved fittings and Deeley latch release as well as a pistol grip stock with horn grip cap and rubber recoil pad. Includes an oak and leather takedown case with “J.M.S. Jr./SO. BEND, IND.” on the lid, oiler, two turnscrews, and cleaning tools. Barrel and stock measurements: bore diameter nine inches from the breech proofed at “12” (.729 inches) and measured .736 inches; choke constriction .035 inches; minimum wall thickness .063 inches; 1
3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish, 60% original case colors with the balance a fine silver patina, slight rub
near the muzzle, some light handling evidence, and overall sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some storage/transit wear. Provenance: John M. Studebaker, Jr.; Property of a Gentleman.

 LOT 3467 Factory Engraved W&C Scott “The Bowood” Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 146670, 12 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight
on the smooth concave solid rib, engraving at the breech, factory markings on the barrels, 1982 dated Birmingham proofs, import mark under forend, choke constrictions of .011/.018 inches, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are mated with a fine casehardened boxlock action which
displays scroll engraving surrounding “W. & C. SCOTT” on either side and “THE/ BOWOOD” on the underside. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. The gun is fitted with a nicely
figured and multi-point checkered forend
with engraved fittings and Anson button release and a straight grip stock with a gold inscription
oval marked with a tiny “BS/375” and a checkered bare butt. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 13/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,500 - 2,500
