Charles E. Lee Signed Engraved and Gold Inlaid Winchester 20 Gauge Parker Reproduction A1 Special Double Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case - Serial no. 20-128, 20 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Introduced in 1988. This is a rare two barrel set, as only a few early guns in this grade were offered, much less a set that is in near new condition in every way. Blued Winchester Proof steel barrels with a single brass bead front sight on a concave solid rib matte barrel, 3 inch chambers, and modified/full chokes. The breech end of each barrel features a 1 3/4 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving as well as thin gold wire
inlaid bands. The casehardened receiver
displays intricate full coverage floral scroll engraving with floral blossom borders,
engraved triggerguard with string of pearls border, sculpted fences and an attractively engraved break lever. The work is signed to the right of the trigger with Master Engraver Charles E. Lee’s signature “CL” mark. Fitted with
a gold washed single selective trigger and automatic tang mounted safety. Mounted on
a finely checkered fleur-de-lis pattern semi-beavertail forearm with engraved hardware and
a pistol grip stock with fleur-de-lis relief carved flats, contrasting wood grip cap with gold inset initial oval marked “VVR”, and a checkered bare butt with an engraved skeletonized buttplate. The extra barrel set is 26 inches long with 2 3/4 inch chambers, improved cylinder/modified chokes, matching serial number, and matching gold inlay and engraving. Includes a leather bound Parker Reproductions takedown case with fine oak interior trim, two nickel snap caps, nickel oiler bottle, and key. Barrel measurements for the 26 inch barrels are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .618/.619 inches; choke constriction .012/.018 inches; minimum wall thickness .031/.024 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .618/.619 inches; choke constriction .028/.038 inches; minimum wall thickness .031/.031 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at the comb; 2 1/8 inch drop at the heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall as embellished by Master Engraver Charles E. Lee, retaining 99% plus original blue and traces of original case colors in protected areas with an attractive patina on the action, limited handling marks, and crisp engraving and wood checkering. Desirable Engraved Winchester 28 Gauge DHE Grade Parker Reproduction
Side by Side Two Barrel Set Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 28-03972, 28 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1983 and 1989 as a faithful reproduction of the beloved Parker shotgun.
Single brass bead sight on the solid matte rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked “IMP.CYL/MOD”. The casehardened
receiver shows the standard DHE grade engraving of hunting dogs on either side and a covey of pheasants on the underside along with “PARKER”. The gun
features a single selective trigger and automatic tang mounted safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered walnut beavertail forearm with engraved fittings
including the Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with carved flats, blank inscription oval, and engraved skeletonized buttplate around checkered bare butt. Includes a second
set of matching serial numbered 26 inch 28 gauge barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked “Q1/Q2”. Also included is a leather bound takedown case that houses the
whole set and two nickel snap caps. Barrel measurements for set “2” (R/L): bore diameters measured nine inches from the breech .556/.555 inches; choke constriction .011/.012 inches. Barrel and stock measurements for set “1” (R/L): bore diameters measured nine inches from the breech .553/.553 inches; choke constriction .007/.017 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 13 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and case colors, minimal handling marks crisp engraving, and crisp stock and forend checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine. The extra barrel set is excellent.
