Scarce Parker Brothers 28 Gauge VHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 235438, 28 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1930 as one of only 772 manufactured in this configuration per the chart on page 258
of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote and even fewer still, only 17%, were made with ejectors. The gun was built with blued steel
barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. VULCAN. STEEL”, chambers measured 2 1/2 inch with
automatic ejectors, and a “XG#” Remington repair code. The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action which displays the standard Grade V zig-zag border engraving and features double triggers
and an automatic tang mounted safety. The gun is fitted with a gorgeous highly figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend and a pistol grip stock with Parker grip cap, blank gold inscription shield, and Parker
dog’s head buttplate. The above configuration is confirmed on page 586 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad, though the stock is likely a Remington replacement to match. Included is a modern wood and canvas takedown case and a pair of nickel snap caps. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .552/.552 inches; choke constriction .013/.013 inches; minimum wall thickness .026/.025 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 7/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 5 lbs. 12 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as Remington restored, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence and a few tiny freckles of spotting. Wood is excellent with a slight chip at the left corner of the forend with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine with minor storage/transit wear.

Scarce Factory Engraved Parker Brothers 16 Gauge GHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 203985, 16 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured in 1923 and was one of just some 353 built in this combination of gauge, grade, barrel steel, and barrel length with fewer having ejectors according to page 279 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins,
Parker, Price, and Cote. The gun was built with blued barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which
is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. PARKER SPEC. STEEL”, light engraving at the breech, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inch with automatic
ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action displaying standard GH engraving consisting of oval game bird scenes on the left, right, and underside surrounded by light scrollwork and line borders and featuring double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with lightly engraved fittings as well
as a pistol grip stock with factory hard rubber grip cap, silver inscription shield, and an orange rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .665/.667 inches; choke constriction .009/.026 inches; minimum wall thickness .023/.021 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 95% plus blue finish with some minor areas of thinning, 25% case colors in the protected areas with a fine grey patina on the balance, some light handling evidence, some edge wear on the stock, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Upgraded Engraved and Gold Inlaid A. H. Fox “Special
Grade” Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 15006, 12 gauge,
28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in
1910 and subsequently upgraded to the current “Special Grade” configuration with blued steel barrels featuring dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib, “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and “A. H. FOX GUN Co. PHILA. PA.” marked on the right and left tubes respectively, and
2 5/8 inch chambers with a single
extractor. The barrels display a single
band of engraving at either muzzle along with two gold inlaid representations of scaled quail ahead of a gold band and 1 3/4 inch
wedge of scroll engraving at either breech. The barrels are mated to a casehardened finished boxlock
action which is marked “SPECIAL” on the watertable and displays scroll engraving surrounding small “ANSLEY H. FOX” banners on either side along with a pointer flushing a woodcock on the left, a
setter flushing a quail on the right, and three more gold inlaid representations of scaled quail on the underside. The engraving continues onto the toplever, tangs, and triggerguard which is inlaid with a gold
three letter set of initials. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and fancy checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an ebony tip inlay along with and a leather faced rubber recoil pad.
