Excellent Documented Walther PPK Semi-
Automatic Pistol with Scarce “Party
Leader” Grips, as Recorded in Rankin’s
Walther Volume II Book, with Party
Leader Holster, Presentation Case,
Extra Magazine and Flag - Serial
no. 177343K, 7.65 mm auto cal., 3 1/4
inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic
grips. Officially known as the “Honor
Weapon of the Political Leaders”, the
Party Leader PPK was a special sidearm
awarded for meritorious service by
leaders at various levels of the NSDAP
to serve as both a badge of honor
and a personal defense weapon.
The critical distinction between the
Party Leader PPK and the standard
commercial model is the grip, which
prominently bears the “reichsadler”
emblem on either side in lieu of
the traditional Walther banner, and
a similarly decorated holster. This
particular PPK is recorded by serial
number on page 133 of “Walther
Volume II” by James Rankin as a known
Party Leader pistol. Fixed sights, with
the standard markings on the left
side of the slide, “crown/N” proofs on
the slide, muzzle and chamber hood,
and matching hand-scribed last three
digits, “343” of the serial number
on the inside of the matching slide.
Fitted with a 60 degree safety, loaded
chamber indicator, ring hammer, the
aforementioned reichsadler grips, and
a blued magazine with a matching
colored extension base. Included
with the pistol is an extra magazine
with a flat steel base, an Albrecht Kind
brown leather holster with reichsadler
on the flap, brown leather case with
spaces for the pistol, extra magazine, three
rounds (included, inert and nickel plated)
and a cleaning rod (included, blued), a copy of Walther
Volume II, a small “party member” badge (unnumbered, marked
“RZM/41” on the back), and a small German flag/banner (34 1/2 inches x 29
inches, printed black swastika on a stitched-on white circle, no visible maker’s
marks).
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% original blue finish, showing minor spotting
concentrated on the frontstrap, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The
grip is also excellent,
with mild wear.
Mechanically excellent.
The case and holster
are both fine with light
stains on the interior
lining and wear, and the
flag shows stains and
repairs.
Estimate: 15,000 - 25,000
