Gold Inlaid Winchester Model 21 Double Barrel Shotgun Two Barrel Set - Serial no. 10622, 12 gauge, 30 inch vent rib bbl.,
blue finish, walnut stock. Built with blued Winchester Proof Steel barrels with a dual bead sights on the matted flat vent rib which is
marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”, chokes marked “MOD”/”FULL”, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches
with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a blued action which is unadorned aside from “N/L/G” inlaid in
gold on the triggerguard and features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun
is fitted with a highly attractive beautifully figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with ebony tip
inlay as well as a pistol grip stock with a factory grip cap and a leather faced recoil pad. Includes a set of extra 26
inch barrels with chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2” and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches. Barrel measurements for
the extra set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .729/.730 inches; choke constriction .005(jug)/.010
inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.030 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine
inches from the breech .731/.731 inches; choke constriction .011/.034 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.032
inches; 1 1/4 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 7/8 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% plus professionally refinished blue finish with some scratches, a few patches of
loss, and some minor spotting. The wood is very good with a few tiny cracks at the upper tang, dings and scratches, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The
extra barrel set is also very fine.

Upgraded Winchester
20 Gauge Model 21 Double Barrel
Shotgun with Extra 28 Gauge Barrel Set,
Case, and Order Sheet - Serial no. 9381, 28 gauge, 26
inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Originally built as a 20
gauge gun, this gun has had a set of 28 gauge barrels added and
upgraded to the configuration. The gun has Winchester Proof Steel
barrels with dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib which
is marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”, 3 inch wedges of floral
scroll engraving at either breech, chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2”, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic
ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a blued boxlock action which displays beautiful Winchester 21-6 pattern
engraving consisting of near full coverage floral scrollwork surrounding attractive game scenes. The left
side shows a setter in a field scene, the right has a pointer in a field scene, the underside shows a pair
of pheasants in a field scene, and a bust of a dog on the triggerguard all rendered in fine detail. The gun
features a gold plated single selective trigger and tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”
indicator. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with
engraved fittings and ebony tip inlay as well as a pistol grip stock with matching checkering, factory hard
rubber grip cap, “H.Y.” in the inscription oval, and a leather covered rubber recoil pad. Included is an added set
of 28 inch 28 gauge barrels with matching engraving and featuring 2 3/4 inch chambers and chokes marked
“MOD”/”FULL”. Also included is a wood and leather takedown case, with silver plaque inscribed “G. F. Tyson”,
that houses the entire set and a Cody Museum order sheet which confirms the two barrels (though both are
listed as 20 gauge), engraving, chokes, barrel lengths, sights, and stock when it was completed on January 4,
1938. Barrel measurements for the extra barrel set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .548/.548
inches; choke constriction .013/.025 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches
from the breech .621/.618 inches; choke constriction .004(jug)/.011 inches; minimum wall thickness .026/.026
inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded to current configuration retaining 95% of the refinished blue finish with minor
handling evidence, browning around the rib marking, a few dings and scratches on the wood, compressed recoil pad, and sharp checkering on the otherwise fine wood. Mechanically
excellent. The case is fine. The extra barrel set is very fine.
