Excellent Documented Mauser Kriegsmarine Contract Fourth Variation HSc Semi-Automatic
Pistol, from the Collection of Author Jan C. Still, as Seen in His Book “Axis Pistols” - Serial no.
898568, 7.65 mm auto cal., 3 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This pistol is photographed
on page 174 of the book Axis Pistols by Jan Still, where it is noted by serial number as an example of the
Fourth Variation Kriegsmarine HSc taken from his own collection. Axis Pistols notes approximately 4,500 made in
this variation, with 47 reported via survey. A supplied Certificate of Authenticity from the Still Family further confirms
this pistol as being from Still’s personal collection. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the standard commercial
markings on the left side of the slide, an “eagle/swastika” on the right side of the triggerguard and “eagle/M III/6” on the left.
Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide and barrel. Fitted with a set of checkered grips and a blued magazine base.
CONDITION: Excellent, 97% plus original blue finish, showing areas of gray or plum patina and mild handling marks. The grips show some
minor dings. Mechanically excellent.

Matching Magazines, from the Jan Still
Luger Collection - Serial no. 1554m, 9 mm
Luger cal., 4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This is a mid-
production Luger pistol that was manufactured by the Mauser factory in
1938, and is complete with its two original matching numbered magazines. Features blade front and notch rear
sights, “1938” dated chamber, “S/42” Mauser code on the front toggle link, drooped wing “eagle/63” proofs on the extension, barrel
and magazine, and “eagle” firing proofs on the barrel, extension, and breech block. All visible serial numbers match including the magazine,
with the interior of the unnumbered grip panels both stamped with an “S/42” Mauser code and drooped wing “eagle/154” proof. Includes a
brown leather flap holster with a “VOEGELS/KOLN” maker’s mark above “1939” date, next to an “eagle/swastika/WaA387” Waffenamt stamp and
an “eagle/swastika/M” Kriegsmarine stamp, containing the extra matching magazine and an “eagle/63” proofed takedown tool. The lot is also
accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from noted author Jan C. Still’s family verifying it is from his personal collection.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus original blue finish with some light holster edge wear, and grip strap wear with some light surface freckling. Grips are
excellent with some light handling marks concentrated on the right panel, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Holster is very fine with
some light handling marks.

Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Matching Magazine - Serial no. 6139, 9 mm Luger cal., 6 inch round
bbl., blue/straw finish, checkered walnut grips. One of approximately 8,000 Imperial German First
Issue Model 1906 Naval Lugers manufactured by DWM, and used as the standard issue sidearm for the
Imperial German Navy all the way through World War I, and even into the Weimar era. Features fixed
blade front and two position adjustable tangent (graduated with “100” and “200” in meters) rear sights,
undated chamber, “DWM” monogram on the toggle link, grip safety, stock lug, desirable six inch barrel, and unaltered
first issue safety arrangement with original “GESICHERT” marking retained on the lower position. With “crown” firing proofs
marked on the barrel, extension, and breech block, along with “crown/M” naval acceptance proofs on the barrel and extension,
with “crown/B” and “crown/U” proofs on the toggle link. With matching serial numbers on the frame and barrel, along with
matching “39” partials on small parts, to include the extension. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips numbers to other
pistols, and a nickel finished magazine with re-numbered to match walnut base, concentric circles, and “crown/M”
proof. With “W D/215” (Werft Danzig) marked on the backstrap, indicating issue through the Imperial Navy
shipyard in Werft, which was a major nerve center for Imperial German naval operations.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% professionally restored blue finish and 75% plus straw colors with some
minor holster pattern edge wear, some limited thinning on the front grip strap and extension revealing mostly brown patina,
minor freckling, and some mild hanldign wear. The replacement grips are very fine with some minor nicks in the otherwise
defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. An exceptional example overall of an unaltered and unit marked Imperial German DWM
Model 1904 Naval Luger.
