Factory Engraved Walter Locke & Co. Locke Hammerless
Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 2688, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib
bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels featuring a single bead
sight on the concave solid rib signed “NEW BARRELS FITTED BY COGSWELL & HARRISON
Ltd. 168, PICADILLY. W.L.”, import mark under the forend, choke constrictions of .004/.022
inches, and chambers marked 2 1/2 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted
to a casehardened boxlock action which shows scroll engraving around “THE LOCKE
HAMMERLESS/EJECTOR” on either side and featuring bushed firing pins, double triggers,
and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point
checkered forend with engraved fittings and a round knob pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and a checkered wood buttplate. Included is a period wood and leather takedown case with a
leather forend cover and cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 95% reapplied blue finish, faint flashes of original case colors, some scattered oxidation, light handling evidence, and mostly crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The case is good
with transit wear.

Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Westley Richards Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 9472, 20
gauge, 29 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Original made c. 1909 per Nigel Brown, the gun
has blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the smooth solid rib which is signed with the Westley Richards
address as well as a Farsi inscription in gold inlay, engraving at the breech, choke constrictions of .015/.027 inches,
and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels were sleeved to 20 gauge and show 1997 dated London proofs.
The barrels are fitted to the casehardened boxlock action which has company signatures on either side and scroll
engraving and features double triggers and a tang mounted manual safety with gold “SAFE” indicator. The gun is
fitted with attractively figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a straight grip stock with
blank inscription oval and a rubber recoil pad. Includes a wood and leather takedown case with gun data, snap caps,
and cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 1 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull;
cast-off; weight 6 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 98% blue finish with some plum hue, silvered action, light handling
evidence, a few freckles of spotting, and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good.

Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 17411, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl.,
blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1936 and
built with blued steel barrels with a single
bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib
which is marked “WILLIAM EVANS. 63, PALL
MALL. St JAMES’S, LONDON.” a flourish of
scroll at the breech, import mark, original Birmingham
and 1992 dated London proof marks, choke constrictions of .016/.023 inches, and
2 1/2 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action which displays scroll engraving along with “WILLIAM EVANS.” signatures on either
side and features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered
splinter forend with engraved fittings and straight wrist stock with a blank initial oval and checkered bare butt. Includes a period wood and leather takedown case with a number of period shipping stickers on the lid. Stock
measurements: 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 15 1/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% original blue finish, 90% original case colors, some light handling evidence, a few pressure marks in the wood, and crisp overall checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
The case is very good with transit wear indicative of a well-traveled case.

Factory Game Scene Engraved A. Zdenek 16 Gauge Sidelock Double
Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 52725, 16 gauge, 27 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel chopper lump barrels featuring a single
bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, “A. ZDENEK” and “PRAHA.” inlaid in gold on the right and left
respectively, band of scroll engraving at the beech, Czech proof marks as well as 1932 and 1966 dated Austrian proof
codes on the flats, front sling swivel, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a deeply
casehardened sidelock action with sculpted fences and beautiful scroll engraving surrounding a pair of dogs flushing pheasant on the left, a capercallie on the underside,
and pair of foxes spooking a flock of geese on the right. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, gold arrow cocking indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety
with gold “S” indicator. The gun is fitted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a straight grip stock with teardrop carved drop points,
silver inscription oval marked “Dr/EM”, rear sling swivel, and horn buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .665/.661 inches; choke
constriction .015/.020 inches; minimum wall thickness .029/.032 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 9/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish, 80% original case colors with some areas of muting, minor handling evidence, a few tiny chips around the lockplate inlets, a spliced
repair at the toe, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
