Rare Factory Engraved Parker Brothers BHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun with
Desirable Single Trigger - Serial no. 209256, 12 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1924 as one of 99 produced in
this combination of grade, gauge, barrel length, and barrel steel according to page
309 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, with less than
10 percent of total production having a single trigger like this example. This gun was
built with blued barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib
which is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. ACME STEEL.”, a band of
engraving at the breech, and chambers measuring 3 inches with automatic ejectors.
The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action which displays sculpted
fences and three highly attractive game scenes surrounded by floral scrollwork. All
three of the game scenes depict a pair of pointing dogs in a field scene rendered in
attractive detail. The gun features a single selective trigger with crossed “P”s Parker
marking and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a highly figured
and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings as well as a pistol grip stock with checkered and fleur-
de-lis carved drop points, fancy checkering, blank gold inscription oval on the grip cap, and a replacement red rubber recoil pad. Barrel and
stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .734/.735 inches; choke constriction .037/.037 inches; minimum wall thickness .036/.037 inches;
1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 13 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% original blue finish, 50% original case colors with the balance a silver patina, light handling evidence, some spotting on
the barrels, some varnish wear on the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The pad is slightly ill-fitting. Mechanically excellent. A rare opportunity to
buy a rare American gun!

Rare Factory Engraved Parker Brothers 20 Gauge CHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 224064, 20 gauge, 26 inch
solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1927 and is one of only 53 total produced in this configuration according to
the table on page 298 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price and Cote. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single
white bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “PARKER
BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CT. ACME. STEEL.”, standard markings on the flats, and
chambers measured 2 1/2 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to
a casehardened action which displays CH grade engraving consisting of “PARKER
BROS.” banners on either side along with game scenes surrounded by intricate
floral scroll engraving. The left shows a pointer in a field, the right shows a pointing
setter, and the underside shows a mallard in flight. The gun features double triggers
and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured
and fancy checkered walnut forearm with Deeley style latch and engraved fittings
as well as a pistol grip stock with carved drop points, factory grip cap, a stylized
“M” in the silver inscription oval, and an engraved skeleton buttplate around the
checkered butt. The above configuration is confirmed on page 558 of “Parker Gun
Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad with the exception of the grade which
is recorded as “A5”, clearly a recording error. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech
.618/.617 inches; choke constriction .013/.018 inches; minimum wall thickness .023/.025 inches; 1 11/16 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8
inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original blue finish with much of the loss on the triggerguard and lower tang, 40% original case colors with the
balance a fine grey patina, small patches of oxidation on the barrels, scratches and pressure marks on the wood, and mostly crisp checkering on the stock
and forend. A great chance to own a rarely seen American classic!
