Letter - Serial no.
8299, 22 LR cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, carved grips. Manufactured in 1912. The included
factory letter lists this revolver by serial number as shipped to Farwell, Ozmun, Kirk & Company
of St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 29, 1912, in a 6 gun shipment, in .22 caliber, blue finish with
grip material not listed. Standard patent markings on top of the barrel with “POLICE/POSITIVE”
and “CAL .22” on the left, and the stylized “C” Colt logo on the left of the frame. Features target
sights, smooth Colt factory grips with inlaid Colt medallions at the tops, a raised relief carved
eagle on the right grip, and “#2” handwritten in pencil on the interiors of both grips. Matching
serial numbers marked on the frame and cylinder crane. Includes an unnumbered Colt factory
box with end labels “TARGET” and “PATRIDGE SIGHTS” above the standard end label listing a 6
inch Colt Police Positive .22 revolver with blue finish.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% original blue finish with some high edge wear and spotting
on the cylinder with a cylinder drag line. Grips are also excellent period replacements with
minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine with some light corner wear
on the lid.

no. 347888, 38 Special cal., 5 inch
round bbl., nickel finish, walnut
grips. Manufactured in 1938. The
included factory letter confirms the
current configuration including the five inch barrel chambered for
.38 caliber, nickel finish, type of grips not listed, and furnished with
a square butt and no lanyard loop mentioned in the special features
section, when sent in a shipment of two to Wolf & Klar Whsle. Sporting Goods Co. in Forth Worth, Texas, on March
11, 1938. Features fixed blade front and matted topstrap notch rear sights, standard Colt address mark on top of
the barrel with the model and caliber listed on the left, with Rampant Colt on the left of the frame and “triangle/
VP” on the left of the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips with silver colt medallion inserts.
Includes a floral tooled open top/open toe leather holster.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original nickel finish with a faint cylinder drag line, some faint scuffs, a
small dent in the rear of the grip frame but otherwise limited handling evidence. The grips are also excellent with
some light patina on the medallions and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine.

Excellent Colt New Service Model
Double Action Revolver in .45 Long
Colt with Factory Relief Carved
Patriotic Motif Eagle Pearl Grips
and Factory Letter - Serial no. 14142, 45 Long
Colt cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish,
pearl grips. Manufactured in 1905, with the
scarce and desirable 7 1/2 inch barrel chambered
in the always desirable .45 LC caliber. The top of the
barrel is marked with the standard two-line address
and patent dates, and the left side has the model
and caliber marking. The side plate has the model
marking around the Rampant Colt. The left side of
the trigger guard has a Colt “V” proof and the number
“5.” A lanyard loop is mounted on the butt. The revolver wears a set of pearl grips with a
relief carved eagle and shield motif on the right panel. The included factory letter states
the revolver was sold to L.S. Lester (address unavailable) and shipped to Hibbard, Spencer,
Bartlett & Co. of Chicago, Illinois, on December 2, 1905 with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber,
blue finish, and pearl stocks with American Eagle motif. This was a single gun shipment.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus bright original high polish blue finish with some
muzzle and edge wear and some thinning to brown on the grip straps. The grips are also
excellent with a slight surface chip near the bottom (left panel), highly attractive fiery colors,
and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent Colt New Service Double Action Revolver
in .44-40 WCF with Original Box - Serial no. 349144,
44-40 WCF cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
grips. Manufactured in 1940. The top of the barrel
is marked with the standard two-line address/patent
dates, and the left is marked “NEW SERVICE 44-40”. The
Rampant Colt is on the left rear of the frame, and the
trigger guard is marked with “VP” and “3”. It is fitted with
blade and frame notch sights and a pair of checkered grips with colt medallions. Includes its original Colt factory
box with end label and handwritten matching number to the gun
on bottom.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus original blue finish with a few scratches visible on the left forward side
of the frame and minimal evidence of a cylinder drag line. Grips are also excellent with crisp checkering and
minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with some corner wear, a few minor tears in the
lid, and a complete end label.
