Steel barrels featuring dual bead sights on the matted concave solid rib which is
marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER FOR ROBERT S. LARSON”, single band of
engraving at the breech, chokes marked “MOD.”/”IMP. MOD.”, and chambers marked
3 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a blued “old style” action which displays Winchester’s 21-4
engraving pattern depicting a pair of mallards taking flight on the left, a pointer and a setter on the underside,
and a pair of quail in flight on the right all surrounded by floral scroll engraving and boarders. The gun features a
single selective gold trigger and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is fitted with a gorgeous highly
figured and multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and an ebony tip inlay as well as a pistol grip Monte Carlo stock with checkered
flats, blued steel grip cap, “R/S/L” in the gold inscription oval, and a checkered Winchester buttplate. Included is an extra set of matching numbered 26 inch
barrels with their own beavertail forend and chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2”. Also included is a factory letter which confirms the above two barrel sets, chokes,
sights, chambers, ribs, stock type, “old style” receiver, and barrel lengths when it was completed for Mr. Robert S. Larson on October 13, 1971. While Robert
S. Larson cannot be positively identified, a likely candidate is the Robert S. Larson of the Tacoma, Washington area, a prominent car dealer and member of
the community. Barrel measurements for the extra set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .618/.617 inches; choke constriction .004(jug)/.010
inches; minimum wall thickness .033/.033 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .620/.618 inches; choke
constriction .018/.026 inches; minimum wall thickness .034/.032 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight
7 lbs. 2 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 90% refurbished blue finish with much of the loss on the underside, a patch of oxidation on the upper tang, minor handling evidence, some
crazing in the varnish on the stock, and crisp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel set is excellent.

Winchester Model 12 Pigeon Grade Upgraded 28
Gauge Slide Action Shotgun - Serial no. 1584439, 28 gauge, 26 inch
vent rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1956 and subsequently
custom upgraded with standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on
the barrel and receiver at the breech and the engraved pigeon on the bottom of the barrel collar.
The vented matte rib is fitted with red bead front and steel bead mid sights, machine turned bolt
and lifter, and it has a 2 3/4 inch chamber and choke marked “MOD”. Mounted with a finely figured
diamond checkered forearm and multipoint checkered pistol grip stock with Winchester grip cap
and buttplate and a 14 inch length of pull.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded to current configuration overall, retains 99% plus refurbished
blue finish with only the slightest handling marks, the faintest traces of cycling wear on the
magazine tube, and crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
