Highly Attractive Master Walter
Kolouch Signed, Elaborately Panel Scene Engraved,
and Gold Inlaid Remington Model
31-TC Slide Action Shotgun - Serial
no. 110787, 12 gauge, 30 inch vent rib
bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1949 and subsequently
masterfully upgraded to the current
configuration. The gun has a blued
steel barrel featuring dual bead sights
on the matted vent rib, standard factory
markings, 2 1/2 inch wedges of floral scroll engraving either side of
the breech, choke constriction of .030 inches, and a 2 3/4 inch chamber. The barrel is mated to a blued action which displays near
full coverage floral scroll engraving with gold inlaid line borders and surrounding a scene depicting a cowboy taking his family west on an ox drawn wagon on the left
and a plains Indian on horseback hunting a pair of buffalo on the right. The gold scenes are rendered in highly detailed relief gold inlay. The engraving is signed “ENG.
W. KOLOUCH/McMINNVILLE, OR.” for Master Engraver Walter Kolouch. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip
stock with factory grip cap and rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 7/16 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 7 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded, retaining 98% blue finish with minor loss on the triggerguard, 99% gold finish, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

Pre-World War II Winchester Model 21 Double Barrel Shotgun with Factory Letter - Serial no. 14445, 12
gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring Bradley red front and steel mid-bead sights on the
matted flat vent rib, standard Winchester markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “WS-1”/”WS-2”. The barrels are fitted to the
blued action which is unadorned aside from the serial number on the upper tang and standard markings on the watertable and features a single selective trigger
and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and nicely checkered beavertail forend and a straight grip stock with multi-point checkered wrist and
checkered butt. The included factory letter confirms the current regular comb, regular finish, drop at comb, drop at heel, length of pull, and weight when it was completed on March 1st,
1939, while the factory order sheet confirms the above as well as listing the gun as a standard grade with 26 inch barrels, straight grip stock, selective ejector, single trigger, beavertail
forend, checkered butt, and current sight configuration. The gun was built for a Bernard Peyton of Princeton, New Jersey. Though the factory documents state the wood is standard,
it is anything but, and is highly attractive. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .728/.728 inches; choke constriction .003(jug)/.008 inches;
minimum wall thickness .034/.035 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 15 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 10 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% refurbished blue finish with light handling evidence and some areas of light spotting particularly around the triggerguard. The wood is very good
and shows small cracks at either side of the forend shoe, numerous small scratches, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Attractive “LC” Signed, Engraved, and Gold
Inlaid Winchester 20 Gauge Model 12 Slide Action
Shotgun - Serial no. 691998, 20 gauge, 27 1/2 inch solid rib bbl.,
blue finish, highly figured checkered walnut stock. Manufactured in 1932
and subsequently wonderfully upgraded to its current configuration. Built
with a blued Winchester proof steel barrel with dual brass bead sights on
the matted solid rib with chamber marked 2 3/4 inches, and choke marked
full (measures .013 inches of constriction). The chamber and barrel collar are
engraved with sprays of light floral scroll on a matted background. The blued
receiver displays highly attractive 12-5 pattern style engraving with beautiful
scrollwork surrounding game scenes on either side. The left scene depicts a
pair of pointers on point as a grouse flushes in a field and the right shows a
flock of four mallards in flight over water. The animals are all rendered in fine semi-relief gold inlays showing very nice contrast. The left scene is signed in the rocks at the
bottom of the scene with “LC” for an unknown, highly skilled engraver. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with factory grip cap and
buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at the comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at the heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 3 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally embellished, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, pluming of the barrel, softened receiver edges, and crisp engraving. Wood is very fine with light dings and
scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
