Factory Engraved Laboratories Armi
Desenzani Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun
- Serial no. 2277, 12 gauge, 28 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/brushed bright
finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single brass bead
sight on the matted flat solid rib, “ACCIAIO POLDI ANTICORRO” marked on either tube,
light engraving at the breech, 1940 dated Italian proof marks, import mark under forend, and
2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the brushed bright finished H&H type
sidelock action which displays near full coverage floral scroll engraving, also H&H type pattern, surrounding “LABORATORIO/
ARMI DILUSSO/E. DESENZANI/BRESCIA” on the underside. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers (front articulated),
clipped fences, hidden third fastener, and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “S” indicator. The gun is fitted
with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved forend iron and a straight grip stock with
blank gold inscription oval and an orange rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore
diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 18.4mm (.724 inches) and measured .737/.732 inches;
choke constriction .044/.043 inches; minimum wall thickness .022/.021 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2
inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with patches of loss on the barrels, some
areas of discoloration on the action, minor scattered spotting, a few light scratches on the wood, and sharp
checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Desirable Framed and Glass Topped Paper Shotgun Cartridge Display Board - An attractive comfort-sized cartridge display board featuring an
assortment of shotgun shells with paper hulls, along with wads, cards, and shot. The shells, most of which are Eley branded and 12 gauge in size, form
a circle around another circle of wads/cards, encircling, three smaller paper shells, sitting atop a green felt backdrop. Housed within a deep set oiled
hardwood frame with a glass top enclosing the display edged bordering, measuring approximately 26 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 3 1/4 inches deep.
CONDITION: Fine, with the display showing little wear or fading, along with some slight attractive aged patina to the brass of the shells and some limited
minor fading to the paper hulls, with the frame showing some minor handling evidence.

Gargantuan Cogswell & Harrison 4 Bore
Single Barrel Field Patent Falling Block Duck Shotgun - NSN, 4
bore gauge, 36 inch bbl., blue/casehardened/brass finish, walnut stock. Built on
a giant brass Field patent action which probably dates from the 1890s, with later blued
two stage round barrel engraved “COGSWELL & HARRISON MAKERS LONDON.” and
“4 BORE NITRO FOR 4” CARTRIDGES” towards the breech, and with large brass bead
front sight. Action with casehardened sidelever and trigger, the left side of the action
engraved “COGSWELL & HARRISON/FIELDS PATENT” and the underside of the action engraved “4 BORE NITRO/
FOR/4” CARTRIDGES”. Bright breech block and hammer. Figured 14 1/2 inch semi-pistol grip stock with checkered grip and replacement
forearm, and partially checkered blued steel heel plate. Birmingham nitro proof marks with date code for 1984. Weight 18 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very good as professionally refurbished with the barrel retaining nearly all the blued finish with clear engraved details and
minor storage blemishes and scratches. The action shows some minor age related tarnishing and light surface marking, engraving clear.
The stock is good with sharp checkering, a repair wedge on the pistol grip, and handling marking and blemishes mostly confined to the butt.
Mechanically fine.
