Factory Master Hans Ulrich Sorg Signed and Game Scene Engraved
Gebruder Merkel 28 Gauge 280EL Double Barrel Shotgun with Case -
Serial no. 383069, 28 gauge, 27 15/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued
steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “No. 10
of 100” at the base, dual bands of engraving at the breech, German proof marked dating to April, 2000 (“4AA”), chokes
marked “VZ”/”1/2”, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the coin finished scalloped boxlock
action with Greener crossbolt and intercepting sears which displays scroll engraving surrounding a pair of game scenes consisting of
a pair of running hares on the left and a trio of quail on the right. The left side of the action is signed “US” for Merkel Master Engraver
Hans Ulrich Sorg. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with
a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved
coined fittings and straight hand diamond shaped stock with Merkel
buttplate. Included is a factory lightweight leather takedown case
containing an oiler, snap caps, and cleaning tools. Stock measurements:
1 1/4 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of
pull; weight 5 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% original blue and coin finishes
with light handling evidence, some oxidation at the breech and muzzle,
some dried grease on the action, a few light scratches on the wood, and
sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine.

Factory Game Scene Engraved Krieghoff Trumpf Drilling with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 80093,
12/6.5 X 57R gauge, 25 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel monoblock
barrels featuring a blade front sight, flip-up notch rear sight, and German claw mounts holding a Zeiss Diatal-Z 6x42mm
scope on the matted solid rib, light engraving at the breech, front sling swivel, 1980 dated German proof marks, and import mark under
forend. The shotgun barrels feature 2 3/4 inch chambers, choke constrictions of .020/.026 inches, and a .22 LR barrel insert in the right tube.
The barrels are fitted to the coin finished boxlock action with Greener crossbolt displays oak leaf engraving around a German short haired pointer
and pheasant on the left, a roe buck on the right, and “KRIEGHOFF-TRUMPF” marked on the underside along with the initials “CD”. The gun features bushed firing pins, cocking indicators, double triggers (front
single set), and Krieghoff’s manual rifle cocker on the tang with manual safety. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a pistol grip stock with black grip cap,
shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and a factory checkered buttplate. Includes three 1980 dated factory test targets. Length of pull 14 11/16 inches. Weight 9 lbs. 5 oz. (with scope).
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 98% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, a few tiny freckles of spotting on the barrels, some dried grease on the action, a few scratches on the wood, and
sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The scope optics are sharp.

Serial no. 101635, 9.3x74R cal., 24 13/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Built with blued
steel demiblock barrels featuring a blade front sight, fixed notch rear sight, and a set of German claw mounts hosting a
Zeiss Diavari-Z 1.5-6x42mm T* scope on the matted solid rib, standard markings, 1977 dated German proof marks, import mark under the
forend, and chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the coin finishes bolstered Blitz action with double Kersten locks engraved with a roe
buck and doe on the left and a pair of wild boar on the right all surrounded by Arabesque scroll engraving. The rifle features double triggers (front is single set), cocking indicators, and a tang mounted
manual safety. The rifle is fitted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved forend iron as well as a pistol grip stock with black grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling
swivel, and checkered black buttplate. Length of pull 14 5/8 inches. Weight 8 lbs. 13 oz. (with scope).
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and some dried grease on the action. The wood is very fine with a few tiny marks, some thinning varnish, and sharp
checkering. Mechanically excellent. The scope optics are sharp.
